I really like the volumax mega hold!

Today I purchased the GVP liquid sculpting gel, volumax styling gel and volumax mega hold gel.

I used the GVP on half of my hair and the volumax styling gel on the other half and topped all my hair with about a nickel blob of the volumax mega hold gel. My hair is not completely dry yet but so far so good. Both sides look promising. I will see how it does for the rest of the day.

When I use it alone I still get soft hair after I SOTC and it lasts all day and into the next (I wash at night and SOTC next morning and get decent hair the day after that too). HTH

Keep us updated, I'm interested in the liquid sculpting gel though it might not be enough hold for me.

I used the volumax mega on top of SM CSM and avg yesterday and I have great hair. By waves/ curls were shiny and held up great to the fl humidity. Today I woke up, added a little avg to the front and had great soft hair today. I love that stuff!!!

All of this talk about Volumax Gel convinced me to try some. I picked up the Mega Hold because it had protein. Just tried it today and still waiting for my hair to finish drying. My only issue so far is that it's a thicker gel than I'm used to using, so I might need to play with application technique and amount. I do notice good hold- my random gravity-defying curls are mostly in place, more so than I would normally see with 100% air drying, so that's a definite plus.

Didn't hate it, but didn't love it. This was also before I tried thinner gels, so I don't know that I would still be as pleased with the results now. But I do absolutely love SS CEJ with SS FHG or another gel. CJ PP also has a similar texture to the CEJ and it's always been a consistent product for me. I also absolutely love Deva UDG, which has a thick consistency, but seems to melt/absorb into my hair like nothing else I've ever tried. Of course your other thread has me really wanting to attempt some okra gel. I'm such a PJ!!

Corrina777 try wetting your hands after you apply it and scrunch in a little water. It gets super slippery with a little water and goes on really well. Hopefully you like it as much as I do.

Yeah Corrina, that's my only issue with it. I wet my hands and mix gel with that water, helps some and I've had decent luck raking it through then scrunching. Since its hard hold that doesn't seem to loosen my waves too much. I'm still working on it but I really like it.

I really liked how my hair turned out the other day using the above mentioned gels. Even second day hair was nice. I think I used a tad too much of one of the gels, but not real bad. I will try just one gel at a time next to see how they perform. I have been having success using "inexpensive" gels lately and I'm thrilled since I,can purchase them locally and in bulk .

Corrina77 how did you like the volumax mega gel?

So I used the volumax styling gel over a leave in with just a pea size of BRHG (didn't know if I'd need that extra old) and I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE how may hair turned out!!! This gel is just the right consistency, not too thick or thin. My hair is soft (after SOTC), shiny and defined . I did my hair last night and could tell as it was drying that it was going to turn out nice. This morning it still looks great . really cannot believe how nice it makes my hair look and feel. It doesn't feel producty at all and I used a good amount of the gel.
I think I will run to Sallys and buy the liter ASAP! I haven't had a chance to try out the mega hold one by itself or the GVP liquid sculpting gel, those two are next. I have a feeling the GVP won't have enough hold on it's own so I will add a drop of BRHG too.

I returned the biotera gel today, and picked up the volumax mega gel. It seems really sticky! I read above to wet hands and then apply, but does it dry sticky at all? I'm scared!

Not sticky like a lot of the jellies I've tried, it definitely dries crunchy and SOTC's out to softness. You can't run your fingers thru your hair of course but you can absolutely touch it without feeling like you're getting stuff on your hands.

Oh, and I've been using its thick, gooey-ness to help with clumping. After I apply it I squish the length of my hair into one big clump and then scrunch it till it forms several nice clumps.

I think for someone with a stronger curl pattern they'd be awesome though.
