Oohh..such lovely curlies and wavies in here!

I'll play along.

1st one is about 75% dry.
2nd is just before SOTC
3rd is immediately after SOTC
4th is about 15 minutes later after my whole "get ready for public eyes" regime is complete.

Um. WHY are they all sideways?? Sorry about that. No clue what happened.

Don't get discouraged Chupie, my hair looks just like yours. Unfortunately wavy hair needs more length to really show its full potential. Have you thought about growing it out some more?

Actually if you look at my and especially KatMack's pics in the before and after SOTC thread I think you'll see what I mean. You can see it better in Kat's but mine does the same thing where the first big wave is on the scalp and the next starts below the shoulders. I'm sure if you grew your hair out to a bit below the shoulders you'd get similar results to us.

I think your hair looks great though, I love the color and it looks very healthy and shiny.

EDIT: I meant this thread: What does your hair look like without scrunching and without styling products?, sorry.

I agree. My hair is just sort of bendy when it's above the shoulders. A lot of wavier need length for it to really show.

i love the pictures! but just a question, how long does it take for your hair to be ready to have the crunch scrunched out? do you generally scrunch out the scrunch at home, or after you've left the house. whenever i wash my hair in the morning, i walk out the house with wet hair, which means people see me with wet, crunchy hair, so irritating!

I blow dry mine even though I work from home, I cannot stand spending half the day with my hair undone, it seems to defeat the object to me

Yeah I am growing. I just said to myself tonight "I just need 5 more inches or so". That's about 10 months off.

Chupie- your hair looks great! Not everyone wants long hair and that's okay. Wavies are just as lovely as curlies, so I hope you appreciate your hair for what is! If I could wear bangs like that!!!!! I have a huge cowlick in front so bangs are a big no no. Lol.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but are most of you air drying? I don't get a big difference either because I diffuse out most of crunch.

Sometimes I air dry, sometimes I diffuse until completely dry, sometimes I do something in the middle. Today (the pictures are a few posts above this one) I diffused for about 10 minutes...until about 75% dry and then air-dryed the rest.

Aw, thanks, Jules! I love your hair, too. Especially your haircut.

(P.S. Ever since I found out I am coarse I am wondering if my hair is really that dense or it's just that the strands are thicker. . .?)

Well, for the picture I posted I air dried. And I violated the rule of "a little goes a long way" with KCCC to show how crunchy I'd get if I was trying to protect my hair from any sort of activity. (Sleeping, exercising, etc.) And then I scrunched out my crunch by going for a jog because it was a pretty tight gelcast. I'm not so good at the manual scrunching. I prefer to just let things unravel naturally but if I have to do it myself I do it with a little bit of leave in conditioner in my hands. Shea Moisture's milk. I don't like to SOTC emptyhanded. I feel like I get neater results with the milk.

I noticed something really strange...

I prefer to use mousse in fact because it's easier to get into my hair for me and less sticky, but I vary between mousse and gel because gel is less drying for me than mousse is.

The strange thing I noticed is that if I use gel, I get a huuuuuge difference between before and after SOTC (first stringy and doesn't look like I have a lot of hair, afterwards I get the volume), and with mousse the difference is really less visible. Mousse also doesn't leave me as crunchy as gel does. (so for me, if I would have to leave home before my hair would be dry I would probably use mousse).

Did anyone else notice this difference, that before SOTC looks more "before SOTC" with gel as with mousse?

Jules: you also have a huge difference between before and after SOTC, do you use gel or mousse?
