I used BRHG today, so I actually had a lot of crunch to scrunch! Here goes....

Wow! So many transformations here. It's really fantastic to see what something like SOTC can do. I never quite achieve that, and I'm wondering what your SOTC techniques are, because I wouldn't be surprised if I'm doing something that doesn't make sense at all.

Lauraimes,

That's one of the only things that I already have figured out that really works for me (that, pineappling, plopping and sugar scrub to relieve itchies).
I hold my head upside down again, wet my hands, add a tiny blob of Yes to Carrots conditioner and like 3 drops of jojoba oil and then scrunch my hair for like half a minute or so. Then I flip it back, done.

I really need a bit of conditioner and oil to get the crunch out, just water or dry hands gives me frizzies. Conditioner and oil without wetting my hands first gives me frizz as well (it seems like my hands get glued to a couple of hairs then and I disrupt my curls), only wet hands and conditioner gives my hair a strange look and only wet hands and jojoba oil makes my hair greasy.

So for me it is scrunching upside down with wet hands and a bit of conditioner and jojoba oil...

I can sort of diffuse out the crunch when I use a jelly but I also get frizz. I use a hard hold gel now and there's no way I could diffuse out that crunch. Which is good because I definitely need the hold overnight.

Thanks! lol, No....I ALWAYS use a cocktail! Today I used Regis Olive Oil condish as a LI, then Spiral Solutions CEJ + FHG, then topped with BRHG.

Today was my last experiment with BRHG, I just haven't liked it in the past....but there is a tropical storm in the Gulf and it's hot, rainy, and humid here today so I knew I would need a little extra "help". It worked pretty well today! I have to say I usually don't have much crunch to scrunch out. But BRHG adds a whole new meaning to the word crunch, lol.

I just saw your question...sorry. I use a gel. I don't know why the clumps look so skinny when dry because they aren't that way when I first put gel in.

Well, for the picture I posted I air dried. And I violated the rule of "a little goes a long way" with KCCC to show how crunchy I'd get if I was trying to protect my hair from any sort of activity. (Sleeping, exercising, etc.) And then I scrunched out my crunch by going for a jog because it was a pretty tight gelcast. I'm not so good at the manual scrunching. I prefer to just let things unravel naturally but if I have to do it myself I do it with a little bit of leave in conditioner in my hands. Shea Moisture's milk. I don't like to SOTC emptyhanded. I feel like I get neater results with the milk.
Hi dusalocks. About how much of the KCCC do you use? I almost bought some of that over the weekend but it seemed like such a small jar for the price.

Hey curlisue. KCCC is very very concentrated. I bought my first jar in the beginning of December I think and I still have it. It's down to the last tenth of the jar. That is enough for at least two to three more weeks for me. It's well worth the price. If we're going by how long it lasts you, I think KCCC is much cheaper than other gels and gellies and mousses. What have you. I think it's difficult to quantify how much I use normally bc of KCCC's consistency. It's very gelatinous and mucous-like. So I just know when I have enough on my fingers but I'd say I use anywhere from a dime to a quarter size for each application? It spreads very easily. Once you get the hang of it you'll know how much is in your hair and whether or not it's enough. Oh also be aware for most people KCCC increases their drying time by a few hours. But if you diffuse that's no problem.

I would 2nd what dusalocks said here. My mum bought me KCCC for my birthday (the smaller jar) at the very beginning of January. I JUST bought the bigger jar because it's my HG, but the smaller jar lasted up until the beginning of May when it got stolen (yes. stolen. someone knew what was valuable! :P ) ...and I still had a good bit left in the jar.

I have hair that is nearly waist-length when pulled straight (bra-strap length when curly), and quite a bit of it (although I've lost a ton because of health stuff lately) ...so, I'd say that the KCCC is definitely worth the money for how long it lasts. Plus, like I said, when I use it along with KCKT, it's totally my HG, so it's obviously worth it to me.

I use it immediately after raking in my KCKT. My hair is still pretty wet, and I rake in the KCCC and then scrunch at the end with a bit more, squeezing the water out with each scrunch. Then I blot my hair with a towel, scrunch in a tiny bit of gel, plop, scrunch in BRHG, let air dry or diffuse, and then SOTC.

This thread inspired me to not be so afraid of the process - I usually scrunch too soon because I HATE the way things look pre-scrunch. First is pre- the rest are post.
