I had a buzz cut 6 month ago my hair has gotten quite long since then. Once washed it falls between ear-chin length. It makes styling a more difficult since i don't quite know what to do with it since it's gotten longer. I have 3b/3c curls my curl pattern has gotten looser these past few months. When i style it the top has gotten heaver so when i style it to the back it dips in the middle.
I also switched to a moisturizing Suave Naturals conditioner was using protein one before (coconut). I realized my hair had enough protein it felt dry. It it still on the dry side.
Also any CG tips my current method is rather simple.Even though I've been at it for 6 months it's still a learning process. I have yet to find a proper shampoo so about 1~2 months I would use suave clarifying even though it contains sulfates.
I have tried "Shea Moisture Organic Raw Shea Butter Moisture Retention Shampoo" It was horrible made my hair feel extremely dry and straw like.
Any idea on how to style it & what shampoo/conditioner to try?
My suggestion would be to continue to get regular trims even though you're growing out, to keep your ends healthy. Also, the suave is a very light condish, which is good for cowashing but you may want to find a stronger one. Since you say it is dry, also focus on doing deep treatments once a week or so. You can mix your (stronger) condish with coconut oil for a good treatment, and leave on overnight if possible. For the weird length you're experiencing, try headbands, clips, etc to mix things up a bit.

I'd suggest a haircut/shaping rather then just a trim. Your hair sounds like it has more curl, but similar length to chole92us and mine. A bob, or inverted bob is easy to grow out. You can have bobs anywhere from ear to shoulder length.
Products are a whole other thing. I agree, you need to use more moisturizing products and maybe not shampoo as often. I wet, use a rinse out and style every day.
