My waves are still looking looser than pre-CG but not as bad as the last few days. This is the best day I've had since starting. Today I cowashed with VO5 kiwi lime, used Joico K-pak, and conditioned with Aubrey Organics Honey Rose. I then raked through LA Looks gel (the blue) and did the rake and shake thing with a tiny bit of scrunching... plopped in flour sack towel for 20 minutes and airdried. Refreshed with Suave CC spray gel.
So pretty ! And SO shiny!!

Day 2, ACK! My hair is frizz city today. Slept with coconut oil in last night, because it was feeling kind of dry. Washed that out this morning, then used Shea Moisture smoothie and some Aussie gel I found at the grocery store last night. I should have known better - drugstore gels are always epic fails for me. My hair is much softer today, but geez, it is the very definition of undefined. Thus the pulled back front:

Day 5- 3rd day hair! For work I decided to twist both sides of my hair at top and leave my hair partially down. I put some SM smoothie in, which directly made it more volumized. Then I used a little EVOO and GSO.

So I finished my second round yesterday with a bad hair day! I am going to post today's hair because I know people read this thread and I am very pleased with my curls today! I co washed with TN and used GVPCB for rinse out. Sealed with avacado oil and a little more TN for leave in. Used flax gel topped with hesmu and plopped overnight. Sprayed with lavender water and SOTC with a little conditioner mixed with Vit E oil. Yay for happy hair! I always forget how much my curls love the overnight plop! 7 Day Challenge - who's up for it?-imageuploadedbycurltalk1371567642.364020.jpg7 Day Challenge - who's up for it?-imageuploadedbycurltalk1371567653.349519.jpg

Day 5
Same routine. We are getting TONS of rain/Hail today, and was not prepared. Little frizzy. We need the rain for the Black Forrest/Royal Gorge fires burning like mad, so you will Not hear me complain! The coils are tight and my hair feels soft. 7/10

Day 3 - rinsed in the shower, did a mini-PT with CJ Repair Me, rinsed it out, added 2 peas back in for a LI, then raked in Garnier Pure Clean gel. Clipped and air dried. I get better results from diffusing, but now that school's out and I'm home all summer, I like to take a break from the heat unless I'm going out.

Your hair is gorgeous btw! How do you style your bangs, they look great with your hair! What's your cut also? My hair is similar to yours but yours is wow, so shiny! Is that fully dry?

Day 6- For the first time ever I did a PT bc today was wash day. First, I co washed with AIA. Detangled with KCKT. I RO'ed with V05 kiwi
lime squeeze. Then I did my PT with GVP: Joico K-Pac. Then I DT'ed with CO. After I used KCCC and sealed with CO. Here are my results, dried. Btw I am so happy I found out my hair needed protein. Best decision after searching. However, the only problem I have been having (prior to PT) is the back seems limp. I make sure I spread my product evenly. I also make sure I done go overboard since I have fine hair. My hair doesn't look the best, but I can feel the difference.

Day 4 - spritzed with some water to calm it the hell down, then pulled back the front and that's it. I would never go to work with this hair, but today I'm just doing work around the house and don't care. It's amazing how much sleeping can ruin my curl pattern!

Day 7! This is second day hair since yesterday was wash day/ PT and DT. All I did today was add a small dollop of KCKT with CO. I think my porosity has changed to high so I am trying to adjust. This has been fun though! I think I might grab all the photos I used and put them on one document to see the changes in my hair for the 7 days.

Day 7: forgot yesterday, ended up in ponytail. Although I did get a lot of compliments at the store.

Day 2 hair: was frizzy yesterday so soaked hair and added KCKT, jojoba oil, and okra gel. Does not feel very good. First day two in a while and forgot what to do with it.

Default Day 2

Here is my Day 2 (I skipped several days because I was sick so I'll just pick up here).

Today is the perfect example of why I should start settling with "really good" rather than always trying to perfect. My hair was looking AWESOME when it dried but there were a few small frizzy bits... probably not even noticeable to anyone else. So I thought, "I'll add some product here... ooh now I need to mist with water a bit... maybe I'll rake my fingers here.." and I messed with it. Needless to say it turned into a mess real quick... Instead of there only being a few frizzy bits the whole thing turned frizzy. Up in a bun it went (it is 100F here today so that might not necessarily be a bad thing).

I was really tempted to re-wash and start all over but if I keep doing that every time I have a bad hair day my hair is going to end up so dried out. My new rule is that I'm only allowed to re-wash and style if it is so bad it can't even look presentable in a bun, if I have a reaction, etc.

If you're curious I was testing out Deva stuff and I used Low Poo, One Condition, B'Leave In, and Set it Free. I had GREAT clumping and curl enhancement and very, very little frizz when it dried. There were two small frizzy bits that I tried to gel (this was on dry hair) and that was an AWFUL idea. From now on, I am only going to let myself style it and no more styling once its dry. I always think I can improve it then end up messing it up. "Fixing" things when it's dry never works out. When will I learn?

On a brighter note, some of the Deva stuff seems good. I'm liking Low Poo, B'Leave In, Angell, and Set It Free. I've only tried One Condition once and it seemed alright. Did not like Arc Angel or the foam AT ALL.

Kaykre, I love that you said that. I admit to the exact same problem. I am so new to curly hair. After years of beating it straight, I freak out a bit if its not smooth. Which makes NO sense. I understand where you are coming from!

It's awful! When there's one piece out of place I end up messing it all up.

Default Day 3

Day 3... REALLY not liking it.

Today was just bad. I cowashed with vo5 and scrunched in KCCC. I plopped but forgot about it for way too long (like over an hour) which lead to lots of frizz and wonky, flat, twisted roots. I tried to salvage but it didn't work so I did a quick upside down rinse. This lead to even wonkier roots. I think I rinsed out too much KCCC because I got a ton of frizz. I got fed up and pinned back the front.

It's still damp in the pictures. This is maybe a 4/10.

I need to figure out the whole parting thing. If I part I get flat roots and limper waves (that's assuming I come all through my hair). If I don't part I do get more volume and curl but I get seriously wonky roots and a weird part. Maybe ill try parting with a wide tooth comb and only gently smoothing the pieces that need it around the part. Idk.. Any tips would be appreciated.

I also need to keep myself from messing with it once its styled.

Not at all. It looks absolutely fine. No one would know that it's not doing what you wanted it to.

Just let the roots be wonky. Seriously. Just dry/diffuse, flip your head back upright, and let it fall wherever. Sometimes mine cooperates, sometimes it doesn't. I don't tease and pull. Just let the clumps go to one side or the other. If you want more of a side part, just take a clump and toss it to the other side. Take a clip and pin it there for a second, spritz it, then dry it for a minute with the clip in. Take it out and go, lady!

A huge part of embracing curly hair is knowing it has a mind of it's own. Let it be, and don't stress about it.

Alright, I thought I'd do all these in one post...It's the last 4 days. I just realized that the last two sets are actually from the same day...just beginning and end of day.

This top one is with my new Spiral Solutions products and KCKT. The rest are Deva Ultra Gel. And for the 2nd day ones, I've got a spray bottle mixed with OneCondition, Ultra Gel, and water that I spritz with.
