Not at all. It looks absolutely fine. No one would know that it's not doing what you wanted it to.

Just let the roots be wonky. Seriously. Just dry/diffuse, flip your head back upright, and let it fall wherever. Sometimes mine cooperates, sometimes it doesn't. I don't tease and pull. Just let the clumps go to one side or the other. If you want more of a side part, just take a clump and toss it to the other side. Take a clip and pin it there for a second, spritz it, then dry it for a minute with the clip in. Take it out and go, lady!

A huge part of embracing curly hair is knowing it has a mind of it's own. Let it be, and don't stress about it.
You're right! I need to just let it be.

Default Day 4

Not great, but not awful.

I co washed with Suave coconut (I think co washing weighs my hair down a bit- I notice better waves when I low poo). I sectioned my hair into 5 (I'm realizing sectioning is the only way I can distribute products well), raked in Deva B'Leave In, then scrunched with a microfiber. I plopped for a maybe 5 min while I got dressed then air dried. I pinned a frizzy bit once it dried.

Maybe a 5.5/6

POOF PICTURES>

So far I think I really love B'Leave In. My hair seems to like the protein and it boosts my waves nicely. I do think I need to try a gel on top because it doesn't really have any hold.

I'm also thinking that co washing weighs me down. I can't tell if I'm adjusting or if it is just too heavy. When I low poo I get much nicer waves.

Raking seems to be great for product distribution and frizz but it kinda pulls some wave out. Scrunching gives me great volume and curl but more frizz. I can't figure out which works for me.

I actually didn't care for BRHG was kinda sticky and too much hold. The only gels I really like so far are Angell and KCCC.

I agree with this. For me, BRHG SOTC's beautifully.

I co-washed with the Herbal Essence Hello Hydration conditioner. For styling I used the Cantu Shea Butter Leave-In,
Krystal Eco Styler Gel, and ORS Coconut Oil.

Default Day 1

I'm bumping this thread because my hair is wonky these days. This is my hair just few days ago.

Top pictures: washed with a low poo (Weleda Wheat Shampoo, which I returned) + AO GPB as RO + FSG (400 ml water + 4 tbsp flaxseeds + 1/2 tsp honey). Plopped for an hour. This was last Saturday.

Bottom pictures: washed with a low poo (De Tuinen Mexican Cactus Shampoo) + AO GPB as RO + FSG (400 ml water + 4 tbsp flaxseeds + 1/2 tsp honey). Plopped for an hour. This was last Monday.

Day 1 - Thursday
Re-wet my hair in the shower. Applied CJ Beauticurls Argan & Olive Oil Conditioner, rinsed it out. Then smoothed FSG on my hair, gently scrunched out the excess water, plopped for an hour.

Weather: temp 51 - humidity 77% - dew 44.
Grade: 6,5

My hair looks much better today. It's shiny (and that I took these pictures in the sun definitely helps!) but it really feels better. I'm sometimes still in doubt whether my hair is really fine. Some individual strands look so coarse to me, but when I use my CJ condish on a daily basis, my hair gets overconditioned. I'm starting to wonder if this simply is because of my hair being low porous and unable to absorb that much moisture so that it just sits on my hair, or because it really is too heavy for my fine curls. I would love to hear thoughts on this because at the same time, my hair really seems to enjoy protein too.

Default Day 2

Day 2 - Friday
Re-wet my hair in the shower. Applied CJ Beauticurls Argan & Olive Oil Conditioner, rinsed it out. Then smoothed FSG on my hair, gently scrunched out the excess water, plopped for 30 minutes.

Weather: temp 50 - humidity 89% - dew 47
Grade: 6

It's okay, but not as good as it can be. I want volume! I want curl definition!

Default Day 3, 4 and 5

Day 3
Washed my hair with De Tuinen Mexican Cactus Shampoo. I shed more than usually so I figured I'd use Beauticurls Argan & Olive Oil to detangle, rinse properly, then use AO GPB as I normally would (RO). Applied FSG to soaking wet hair. Plopped for an hour, then let it air dry. Had a decent hair day.

Grade: 7.

Day 4
I re-wet my hair in the shower, applied no conditioner because I figured I might overcondition after having used two ROs the day before. However, I barely had any FSG left. It wasn't enough to cover everything and so my hair wasn't as curly as usual. Not even close. I took this picture way past midnight so this is after an entire day of running out and about, including dance practice. While my hair does look healthy, I want it to be curly as well.

Grade: 5,5.

Day 5
I didn't get around making a new batch of FSG, and like some others never leave the house without make-up, I never do without any styling product in my hair because it just looks wonky if I do. That's why I decided to do a French braid. It still looks really neat because it's morning, but I suspect some curls will get out, haha.

Day 6
Oh where to start? Be prepared for one of the worst days in months! My hair is fuzzy, undefined, lacks volume, looks dull and unhealthy.

This morning I re-wet while in the shower. Applied AO GPB, rinsed it out, then applied FSG (400 ml water + 4 tbsp flaxseeds + 1 tsp honey + some lavender oil). Plopped for an hour.

I think my problem is the new FSG. I couldn't use my measure spoons so I used regular cutlery. I accidentally forgot that I usually measure just 1/2 teaspoon instead of a whole. Additionally, I used a strainer instead of a pantyhose so maybe this affects the bad results as well.

I'm not sure how to solve this. I'll have to get up at 05:30 tomorrow morning so I don't have time for something elaborate. I'm considering just braiding it again because I feel terrible when my hair looks this unhealthy.

Grade: 3,5

Haha don't worry, even if I'm not happy with a particular style, that doesn't mean that I don't appreciate hearing that you do like it So thank you!

That would be fun - it's pretty lonely now that I'm posting all by myself.

Day 1

Products used today:
DevaCare Low Poo
DevaCurl Heaven In Hair
Nature's Gate Henna conditioner as a leave in
As I Am Curling Jelly

Dew Point: 61

It was a just alright hair day. It's been rainy all day and I got rained on a couple times, so I guess in retrospect it's not all that bad. My hair feels kind of flat today, not sure if it's the curling jelly.. It's only my third time using it, I like it better on dry hair.

Amy I think your hair looks really good! Very healthy :-)

Day 7
This week just has been really frustrating. I know how great my hair can be, and it just isn't. Not only does it fail to look great, it even feels bad. What I feel is wrong with my hair right now:

- Limp and lifeless.
- Dull instead of shiny.
- Where are my curls? Hello guys, I know you're somewhere...
- FSG dries extremely crunchy. I'm thinking of throwing out the batch I made last Monday.
- It looks messy and undefined.

Even when it's wet, it doesn't look as good as it usually does.

Anyway, what I did today:
- Re-wet with showerhead.
- Applied FSG.
- Put it back with two bobby pins (of which one is reluctant to stay in its place at the back, so that's why you can see it on the picture).
- Plopped for 45 min.

Grade: 4,5
