I would be if I had some products left. I have to reorder but they're out of stock, so I'll come back once I actually have stuff to work with :P

I'm in! I'll start tomorrow as it's a wash day. It should be interesting as I'll be traveling the last half of this coming week and that always gives me strange results.

Of course the day I decide to start this challenge, I have an off hair day. I have been having such good hair days for the last 2-3 weeks, I guess I was due for a blah day.

DAY 1: I followed my regular routine today. The only thing I changed was I used SM Moisture Retention Shampoo because I did an overnight coconut oil soak. I've been trying to do this overnight soak fairly regularly as my hair somehow ended up damaged and the ends were breaking off. I have since trimmed my hair and really been pampering it so I don't think I will continue as regularly with the coconut oil.
Besides that change, I conditioned upside down with GVP CB and rinsed it almost completely out. Squeezed a little bit of water out and raked in KCKT and CK then scrunched in KCCC. All of this was done upside down. Plopped for about 20-30 min. then scrunched in LA Looks gel (I don't remember which one exactly) Diffused until about 85% dry then SOTC after fully dry about 45 minutes later. I would rate today a 6 out of 10. As the day went on, it got weird looking so I clipped it back. The main thing I'm lacking is the volume I usually have.
Oh well, here's to hoping tomorrow is a better hair day.

Seriously? That's a 6/10? I would freaking KILL for those curls!!! I have to wipe up some drool. I would love to see your hair at a 10!

I think I may join in this again, I'm having some troubles at the moment.

Day 1: fail. 2/10

Needless to say, I hate my hair today, so I put it up. I'm working my massage job tonight, so I needed something out of my face. I tried to put mini claw clips in to clip it back, but it just wasn't working and felt extremely annoying. I'm so fed up with my hair right now it's ridiculous.

I re-wet my hair by wetting my hands and smoothing/squeezing in the water like normal, then applied a thin layer of gel and diffused. Part of my curls were great and defined, the rest was just a mess. I got to work and tried to fix it, which ended up making it worse. Up it went.

Please ignore the gluten free graham cracker.

I put a lot of stock in volume. I'm also dealing with a much shorter length than I've been used to. As I said in my original post, the ends started breaking off at an incredible rate and, unfortunately, I didn't realize it until too late. I lost a lot of length in the recovery time and finally had to chop the rest of the damaged ends which left me with much shorter hair. My profile picture was taken January 15th and it was MUCH longer. All of this plays into how I rated my hair because I really don't like this length. I guess length shouldn't play into it because that's something that will change over time. I will try to keep that in mind when rating my hair.

The benefits of working from home is that I still haven't styled my hair today so that is next on my list of things to do today. Once I do, I'll upload a picture.

I totally feel you on that, understandable. Your curls are still amazing though Volume is huge, I agree.

Day 2
Rewet my hair scrunched in quite a bit of AIA leave in and then some SM Souffle. Let it air dry and I'm digging today's hair. It feels longer than yesterday but I know that is because it stretched a little over night and I didn't diffuse today. Still not the volume I want, but I think that has to do with my hair being shorter than I'm used to. I would rate it at an 8.
Once it's completely dry, I'll probably touch up some of the inevitable frizz with SM Smoothie.

I'm really not looking forward to the last half of this week as I'll be in Memphis, TN from Wednesday through next week. Whenever I'm traveling, my hair goes crazy because of the difference in the water and weather. Should make for some interesting pictures.

Also, don't mind the glasses and no makeup. Not planning on going anywhere today that requires makeup or contacts.

Do you tip your head over and fluff at your roots to get a bit more volume on days it's not as voluminous as you'd like?

Yes, but my hair doesn't like to do what it's told and 5 minutes later it's flat to my head again. Such finicky hair these curls of ours!

Darn. I was hoping I could help. I have to do that multiple times a day as well. It seems to stay for about an hour, but after that I'm back to being a flat head. Boo!

Day 2: 5/10

I used L'Oreal Eversleek shampoo last night and then SSI Okra Reconstructor, because my hair felt mushy and over conditioned. I tried no leave in, just to see how my hair would react and it was awful, I didn't like it.

Planning to clarify and do a PT tonight or tomorrow.

This morning I wet my hair with my hands, put in a little Komaza Aloe My Hair Leave In, then HE Set Me Up gel. Diffused to mostly dry and here it is.

It's frizzy, and the curls aren't terrible. Just not as defined and non-frizzy as I'd like.

Okay, so I am going to do two days at once.

First day (1st pic):

I rinsed my hair in the shower and put some TN in it and the detangled and put it up in my Turbie Twist.

When I was done getting dressed, I sprayed some water on it and then put in my AIA LI and the SMCES while my head was flipped over. I combed it with a wide toothed comb an flipped my hair back over. Ran my fingers through it and then sprayed some SM Moisture spray on it and let it air dry.

Second day (2nd pic):

I washed my hair with the AIA Co-Wash, then put some TN in it and detangled then put it up in the Turbie Twist.

I started by putting the products in my hair while my head was upright and finished by flipping my head over and combing the product through. Flipped my head back over again, and raked my fingers through it then sprayed some SM Moisture Spray on it and let it air dry on the way to work.

Not much of a difference in routine, but I was running late this morning so I went to the fail safe. I'm hoping to try some Jojoba oil tomorrow morning.

Woke up sick today so I did absolutely nothing to my hair. It's been in a high bun all day. I'll spare you the picture :-) Tomorrow will be styled but I'll be traveling so I'll post a picture sometime.

Tried the Jojoba Oil this morning. It was a tough go though, because I started doing my hair one way and it looked like crap so I went back to my old fail safe. I don't know if the Jojoba oil is too much for my hair with the other products, but I think I'm going to cut out the SMCES and try a LI with the oil. My hair feels softer today and there's really no crunch to scrunch out, but it looks extra stringy to me. And frizzier than normal. It isn't bad enough for me to pull up into a ponytail, but I definitely don't feel like it looks good.

Day 3: 8.5/10

Yay! I love my hair again!!

I saw one of my boyfriend's friends on facebook with these beeeaauuutiful curls, and I asked him to find out what she used. He thought I was weird, but whatever. So he started a convo with all of us, and she told me that she uses Pantene Curl Perfection for her shampoo/conditioner and some Deva products for her stylers. I've been toying with going back to whatever, since nothing seems to work. So we went to Target while we were out and I picked some up.

Lo and behold I have my freaking curls back!!! I can't even tell you the last time they clumped and curled like this. I was actually pretty shocked.

I used Pantene Curl Perfection shampoo & conditioner, mixed a little CNPF in with the conditioner and let it sit for about 3 minutes. Used DevaCurl B'Leave in and HE Set Me Up gel.

This is 2nd day hair, my hair yesterday when I washed was unbelievable! My boyfriend loved my hair as well, and he said it smelled pretty Can't remember the last time he said that about the smell of my hair.

Ok Day 4: I'm not sure yet how I feel about my hair today. I co washed with Suave Naturals and rinsed out with TN. Then I decided to be adventurous and try to use SMCES as my leave-in. I wet my hands, scooped a tiny bit out and rake through my hair. I've tried to use SMCES just as a styler and it left my hair feeling too "producty" (is that even a word?) but I think by just using a little bit and thinning it out, it kinda worked. I then followed with the SM soufflé and plopped with a t-shirt for about 30-45 minutes (I got busy finishing laundry and packing. can you say procrastinator?). After taking down the plop, I scrunched in LA Looks Gel and let it air dry. Air drying always gives me looser curls and I think the heavier leave in helped with giving me looser, not quite so defined curls. It's a nice change, but I'm still a little frizz ire than I prefer. I have gotten many compliments today so maybe it doesn't look as crazy as I feel it does. Also, the volume is better which I don't know what to attribute that to other than my hair just being crazy and picking what days it wants to cooperate. Anyways, long enough post. Here's the picture.

Not sure why it posted the picture twice, but oh well. I also forgot to rate my hair day. I would say today is an 8.5 although I'm not sure I'll be able to get pretty 2nd days hair out of this. Thankfully, for the next week, my hair has to be up on top of my head for most of the day so pretty 2nd day hair isn't a big deal.

Default Here we go

Day 1.. This is day 1hair. I like to part with a comb in the shower, combo it all down while sopping wet then resume scrunching, etc.. I don't get as much root lift, but I also avoid wonky things happening ...like weird lumps and out of control parting. I did minimal scrunching.. I find I get better day 2if the curls are loose. I need to figure out gel/hold but it seemed to hold up ok. This was the end of the day yesterday. I was wiped out and realized I never took front and back pics. Oh well.
