Aw, thanks Corrina. But your hair always look awesome. I look the length right now and how you style it sideswept. Is it harder to get second day hair with shorter hair? Sometimes I see all these lovely short dos on the site and I just feel like getting a haircut. But then I'm afraid it'll wind up being less convenient. . .

Thank you! I've rarely gotten second day hair, even when my hair was BSL, partly due to lifestyle (lots of karate and weight training) and partly due to major frizz. But once in a blue moon I could pull it off. With the short hair, I don't stand a chance of second day hair. I take my hair out of pineapple and it's sticking out in every possible direction. I do feel like it was easier to take care of when it was longer, with the exception of detangling- I get zero tangles at this length, which is awesome.

Day 1 hair again. I washed it last night and pineappled. I co washed with GTTT, used YTC pampering Condish ( rinsed most of it out), KCCC, and topped with mix of LAL MEGA gel and BRHG. What a disaster! It feels producty and when I took out the pineapple, stringy mess!

Day 4....

same routine as before... alba naturals coconut low poo, snc RO and LI. Blot, hour plop, and air dry. Unfortunately it's so dang hot here already, and especially in my upstairs that I was melting getting out of the shower and it's pretty loose/limp/frizzy today. This is where my conditioner only styling fails lol. I imagine by the end of the day I will be a frizzy mess. I am thinking I will put it up somehow now that's it's mostly dry so I am at least comfortable today and not dying from the heat. I would NOT rate this a good hair day lol. It does look a little better in person... I have trouble getting pics that really show the curl, and shine.

HG: currently
just washing with a low poo that contains protein (Alba Naturals Coconut) and using Suave Naturals Coconut as both a RO and LI. No stylers right now, but this gives me pretty good curl, definition, low-ish frizz, and it feels and looks good. Also an occasional PT (liking the Palmer's Coconut Oil Formula which has cones) seems to be key for me.

Day 4:

I did a PT last night and then pineappled. Rewet this morning, smoothed/scrunched in KCKT and KCCC, plopped, scrunched with BRHG and then diffused.

Didn't turn out great. I'm still figuring out if my hair likes protein or not.

it got progressively worse after those pics in the frizz department when I had to leave the A/C house so now it's in a ponytail, but thank you. I have definitely had worse hair days lol.

Okay, 3rd day:

Woke up with 3rd day hair like this: (yuk) 7 Day Challenge - who's up for it?-imageuploadedbycurltalk1370465060.096264.jpg

So I co-washed and rinsed all the conditioner out completely. No LI today, just gel (it's just some random one I found in France. I don't think I like it too much and there is never much to scrunch out). Plopped for 40 min and then air dried for a few hours. Hair is still damp in some parts in these pictures. 7 Day Challenge - who's up for it?-imageuploadedbycurltalk1370465254.949192.jpg7 Day Challenge - who's up for it?-imageuploadedbycurltalk1370465385.317213.jpg

(I know I was saying that everyone was being too hard on their hair... I'm going to sound like a complete hypocrite haha) I feel like today it is way too flat and just blahhh. I don't know if it's the new lifeless gel I'm using or too much protein?? At least it's not feeling like straw anymore. So frustrating! I may go back to my FSG...

On a positive note, I am really excited that the strands underneath, which normally are stick-straight, are starting to get a wave (or rather like a weird spiral that looks like I squashed it) to them! I am actually shocked about this

I'm sitting at a coffee shop working on my computer, and I just went in the washroom and....holy curls batman.

7 Day Challenge - who's up for it?-imageuploadedbycurltalk1370465954.781651.jpg

I know it's a bad quality picture--wish I had my other camera with me. But my curls are absolutely frizz-free and ultra sleek and silky. Maybe my hair DOES like protein? They aren't as ringlet-y as normal, but they're super bouncy and happy and shiny.

Day 3, round 2- going out after choir practice. Normally my HG guaranteed awesome hair routine starts with CHS Treatment Shampoo, but since I vowed to do strict CG until the cruise, I opted to experiment with some new products as well as a few tries and true. CJ Gentle Cleansing Shampoo, followed by ROO (all rinsed out). SS Protein Treatment as LI, Re:Coil, Curl Keeper, combed everything through. Applied gobs of CJ Curl Queen Gel, plopped, clipped roots, mainly just to keep some semblance of a part while I diffused. Smoothed in a bit of CIAB mixed with CCCC to smooth frizzies (did I mention rushed and sloppy technique? My diffuser technique could be called the "anti-pixie curl"). No gravity defying curls, thanks to the clips. Decent curl, which usually spirals up more as the evening goes on- if I get a chance for after pics I'll post a few later. 7 Day Challenge - who's up for it?-imageuploadedbycurltalk1370471553.504990.jpg7 Day Challenge - who's up for it?-imageuploadedbycurltalk1370471567.555386.jpg7 Day Challenge - who's up for it?-imageuploadedbycurltalk1370471625.278642.jpg

Oookay. Day 3! A tough day for my hair... Not really curly, just messy and poofy. I think this has to do with my new tendency to diffuse! I'll let it air-dry tomorrow and see what happens.

Day 3:

Dewpoint: 10 (up to 21 today)
Weather: 12oC (up to 23oC today), 89% humidity

Pre-poo: a bit of sweet almond oil on my ends
Poo: Giovanni Blue Camomile Hydrating Shampoo mixed with local honey and Giovanni Blue Camomile Condish
Condish: Desert Essences Coconut Condish, IceQueen style
LI: KCKT (just got this yesterday, giving it a shot despite the fact that my hair usually hates leave-ins)
Style: Giovanni LA Natural Styling Gel (Strong Hold), applied in the shower in a supersoaker/scrunch-and-pump method
Drying: Microfibre dusting mitt and clipped (Deva Cross-clipping along the part; Deva Glamour-clipping throughout the rest). Air-dry for an hour, diffuse 'till 80% dry.

So much for the point of this thread being to show us on our best AND worst days, lol! Everyone's hair looks awesome!!!!

I received a box from Uncle Funky's Daughter today, so I'll be using new products tomorrow!

Currently, I am head-banding it- my end-of-day-hair was a total frizztastrophie.

ETA: Pics of my end-of-day hair, typical when I'm using products that don't "hold" through the day. The Joico gel is a no go. I get this every time I use it. it's a total frizzy mess and I resorted to the headband!

Day 3 (first day post trim)

Wash: As I Am Curl Clarity Shampoo (since forgot to bring my own products to hairdresser)
RO: Nature's Gate Biotin conditioner
LI: VO5 Moisture Milk passion fruit smoothie
Styler: Shea Moisture C & H Curl & Style milk
Alba Botanicals strong hold gel

Plop for 15
Claw clip canopy for about 20 minutes total (in stages)

Day 4 will truly be second day hair, since I have to work at the butt crack of dawn and won't have much time to mess with it.

I should've took a picture post trim, it was probably the worse my hair has ever looked since starting CG in January! Love my hairdresser, but she doesn't style it very well

Default Day 3

This is day 3 of the challenge, but day 14 since going CG for me.

I didn't use a shampoo, just rinsed really well, then DevaCurl One C as a RO. I added SheaMoisture C&H Curl and Style Milk to very damp hair and plopped. I diffused and went to bed, where my pineapple fell out, again. In the morning I got it damp again and added KC Spiral Spritz to smooth down the canopy. I haven't been very happy with how it's felt up until now, so I left out most of the styling things to try to identify what makes it feel soft, and then I'll start adding stuff from there. That's today's plan. It'll be different tomorrow.

It's not great, but I am seeing progress. I took this picture after getting home from work, and it looked curlier than it felt, so that was cool. The other side is curlier, but I accidentally deleted the picture.

Day 3. Tried out my KCKT and KCCC for the first time in about a year. I forgot how I used to apply it but raking it in definitely doesn't work well. Going to try scrunching it in tomorrow.

So I raked in some KCKT and raked in the KCCC (all upside down) then flipped over and smoothed it all down. I definitely prefer the hair from yesterday when I scrunched in the product. Also I just got off work so it's kinda fluffy from that.
