Day 5...

Hair felt a little dry last night, and where I had put more LI it was a little stiff, so I wanted to change things up a little today. I did my alba low poo, then I used a mix of the snc and ytc as a RO, and used a little less snc as my LI. Blot, hour plop, air dry. Not my best or worst hair day.... too frizzy, bit fluffy, and the curls aren't very strong/defined. Another hot day here. Had a really hard time getting a shot today for some reason... maybe the extreme differences in exposure of my skin/shirt and my hair. Couldn't quite get a shot that really showed how it looks.

HG: currently
just washing with a low poo that contains protein (Alba Naturals Coconut) and using Suave Naturals Coconut as both a RO and LI. No stylers right now, but this gives me pretty good curl, definition, low-ish frizz, and it feels and looks good. Also an occasional PT (liking the Palmer's Coconut Oil Formula which has cones) seems to be key for me.

Seriously....3rd day hair!!!!!????? Looks great!
Oh my goodness, thank you! I can honestly say I love my hair now. That's why I don't grade it from day to day. Because my worst hair day now is a million times better than my best before I went CG. And also my hair has never been so healthy or low maintenance. Well, that's a lie. It is high maintenance in terms of how often I need to moisturize it (I deep treat 2-3x a week) but I honestly don't care. I used to have to flat iron for an hour every few days and that was much ultimately much more time consuming. So was evading sprinklers, steam, rain, super sweaty workouts, LOL! I actually had this discussion with my friend in Vegas. I packed a low poo, cowash, rinseout, gelly, gel, and leave in. When she saw all this she was all, "Man I'm happy my hair is straight. I just get up in the morning, wash it, brush it and I'm okay." And I said, "Well, I'm happy my hair is curly. I only have to detangle it once every three days and I just get up in the morning, wet it and refresh and I'm okay. Also I don't have to wash it everyday because my scalp produces next to no sebum." So we realized it was a tradeoff. And we also agreed almost everyone looks best with their natural texture.

What's vtc? I love your hair here, as ever. It always looks very romantic and soft to the touch. I'll bet it is.

It was YTC... yes to carrots. I don't love it, but I bought it and am giving it a try from time to time. I have been using mainly the suave naturals and having good results, and I think it is because I didn't need such a moisturizing conditioner, but if I was going to choose something other than the SNC I would usually pick my biolage conditioning balm. Mainly because it has better slip and I hate the smell of YTC lol.

Oh and thanks for the compliment. It can be soft... when it's not frizzy lol. Right now it's a mess so I had to throw it up again. Having it down on hot days makes my head sweat too much, and then I had to sit in a stifling gym waiting for my son to get out of school... talk about awful for my hair!

Default Day 4 Fail

Oops. I forgot to take a picture of how my hair looked today before I went to get it cut. This was the first time I got it cut since going CG and my stylist didn't really know what to do. She was familiar with the term "sulfate-free" and their shampoo was sulfate-free, but then she was looking for styling products that were sulfate free, and I had to explain that sulfates are usually in shampoos, I need to avoid silicones in styling products. So...it wasn't great. But she was enthusiastic about learning about it by the next time I come in, so we'll see.

Anyway, the picture attached is of my hair last night after washing it. I used Carol's Daughter Hair Milk, but it was the first time and I used way too much. It looked really greasy today, although it was soft.

Day 4: giving up on KCCC for now. Back to my Deva products. Such a blah hair day today. Ill try back with the kinky curly products once I get my hair healthier and trimmed. Raked in KCKT and then smoothed and scrunched in KCCC.

I will prove to you all that my perfect hair day pics (or anyone else's) all over this site are not a daily thing. Most days I slack. Ill probably do it tomorrow, but here is day 3 and 4 for me. Only one pic, because this is exactly what I did yesterday too. Air dried naked with no scrunching, up in a claw clip. Im so low maintenance even doing my hair, even in it's natural curly state, most days is too much for me lol.

Thanks!!!! They didn't feel great though lol. I used to use KCCC a couple years ago and loved it but can't seem to figure it out now. This time it made my hair feel really tangly, dry and producty. I've definitely had better hair days but pictures don't tend to show those sort of things LOL.

I agree with the producty feeling of the KCCC. Unfortunately I haven't found anything else yet that gives me the clumps I want. I will probably use it up and then try something else. I am also thinking of trying to make the FSG again. It is such a pain, but if I can just get it to work maybe it will be worth it.

Anyway, I just thought you should know your curls in the pics were gorgeous!

Day 5. Had trouble sleeping and seriously overslept, so I'm attempting second day hair. I had finger combed my hair out last night before I pineappled. Not sure why I did, other than that I was measuring length. Still had serious poof this morning and finger combed and set part. Then went out in the rain to get the canopy a little damp. At work I sprayed some Deva Set It Free onto my hands and then smoothed and raked it into my hair. Will probably end up in a ponytail by lunch. 7 Day Challenge - who's up for it?-imageuploadedbycurltalk1370606148.714153.jpg

^^^^ that's what my hair looks like on a GOOD 2nd day (most mornings there's no salvaging the frizz). I like! BTW, I posted my okra gel directions on another thread, it was really easy!

Day 5: second day hair. Misted with lavender spray to rewet and smoothed some as I am leave in and gvplsg. The front/bangs were awful so headband day. Might end up in a ponytail again, we will see. Have had better second day hair for sure. Don't thing the SM soufflé is for me. Back to FSG and going to try some okra gel this weekend I think. I give today a 5 of 10. Still way better than any second day hair pre CG.

You guys with your 2nd and 3rd day hair- Looks great! I find it really difficult to complain about my hair anymore, because even on the worst days, I agree with you- it's a million times better than on my best pre-CG day! Let us know how the okra gel works out! It's so much easier to make than FSG, just use the same add ins you do with FSG!

I lied. 7of 10 for second day hair. Went back and looked again. Except for the stupid bangs it looks pretty good. Not much frizz and good curl formation.
Sometimes I'm too hard on myself
