Default I just made my first batch of FSG with marshmallow root.

I kept it simple this time and only added Epsom salt, essential oils, arrowroot and optiphen. It came out almost same consistency as KCCC and it works pretty good! I may still need to use BRHG on the canopy though.

I love MR in my FSG! Still haven't tried ES but then I have no inclination to because my hair gets dry very easily. I may look into arrow root though.

I use the arrowroot as a thickener.

The last time I made my FSG I boiled for almost 30 minutes to see how gelatinous it would get. Got to say it still strained quite easily. I think it might be the slip from the marshmallow root making it runnier. Then I added some AVG and agave syrup to thicken it up and that worked. Because I boiled it for so long, however, and so much steam evaporated, I had less FSG than usual. So maybe I'll go back to boiling for ten minutes and get a hold of arrow root or something else to thicken it up. I've heard castor oil is good and I love castor for deep treats, but I'm hesitant to put it in my styling products because I'm unsure of what it'll look like. . . Seems a little too thick.

Jules, would you mind giving your recipe? I'm really interested in the flax seed to water to marshmallow root ratio.
Thanks!
