I have not seen a discussion about this in a while so I thought I would start a new thread since new models come out alot

It seems to be taking such a long time to dry my hair so I thought it might be time to invest in a new hairdryer, a more upscale model. I am looking for one that is light and dries hair quickly.

Please send me all your hairdryer recommendations! And also please let me know what diffuser you use with it!

Thanks so much!
Here's a thread that might help you Anybody have an expensive hair dryer? I have the FHI Nano 2000. I really like it. Can really tell the difference between that and the cheap hair dryer I keep at my vacation home.
3a (Corkicelli), highlighted, fine, low porosity

HGs: Anything Sevi; Curly Kinks Satin Roots, Curlycue ReNew and Coil Jam; homemade FSG and okra gel; soap bars; UFD Curly Magic; Botanical Spirits Jellies, CJ Repair Me, Marie Dean Leave Ins and Curl Creams
I just bought a CHI to replace my old one. The first one lasted me 7or 8 years so I think it's worth it. They're also a nice size, weight etc. (although, I bought a cheaper version this time and compared to my old one it sounds like a lawn mower... My poor roommates :P)
Co-Wash: Deva No Poo
Conditioner: Tresemme Naturals
Leave in: KKKT (with KCCC only)
HG Gel: KCCC
Currently experimenting with Garnier Pure Clean
Thanks for the replies. Can you tell me if you got a special diffuser to go with the ones you have?

I have the babyliss pro 3000:

BaByliss PRO TT (Carrera 2) Tourmaline 3000 Dryer | Folica.com

And the solano universal diffuser:

Solano Universal Diffuser | Folica.com

This is another one that gets great reviews on the Internet for a decent price:

BaByliss PRO 2800 Super Turbo Hair Dryer | Folica.com
2C/ Coarse/ Normal porosity/ SW Florida/ Salt & Pepper
Cleanse: CJ Daily Fix, JC Cleansing Cream, TJ Tea Tree Condish
Condish: JC Too Shea, CJ Curl Rehab (both as RO & LI)
Stylers: UFD CM, CJ PP, JC Spiralicious, Darcy's Cream Gel & Cocoa bean whip
I use and recommend the karmin g3 hair dryer, it's very good . works with ceramic heat which is healthy for hair and better for styling hair. dries fast and leaves the hair soft and smooth. If u are interested check it out at safrons. com
Thank you everyone. These are the ones I see most mentioned on the forum.

T3 Featherlight
Metropolis Z-Ion
FHI Nano Salon Pro 2000
Babyliss Pro

If you have one of these or even any others please let me know. I do not straighten my hair so I am looking for one to use with a diffuser.

Thanks!
I have also heard a bonnet dryer is good too. Lightweight & travels well.
I've got my eye on the Devafuser.. reviews seem to be hit and miss but I assume that they use them in the Deva salons?
I also like the Deva Dryer (still blaming Chupie for this purchase but it was worth it. .)
dusalocks likes this.
2b/2c ( weather permitting - 3a), fine texture but lots of it, colored and highlights, BSL.
Experimenting w CG since Oct 2012

Current rotation:
cowash= TN
AG Gel Mousse, LA Gel,
DT = Coconut oil (love)

I used to use the metropolis Z-ion: liked it a lot, but the cord is thin and broke once on me. I figured it would be a common occurrence because it isn't a durable cord. I decided to change to another one, before it broke on me again.
Pro's: very light weight, the technology really does make a difference in frizz, can purchase a diffuser that attaches directly to the dryer.
Cons: didn't dry quickly and not as durable as it should be for the price. Even though you can purchase a diffuser that fits it, it should come with it for the price you pay.

FHI Heat Nano Pro 2000
Amazon.com: FHI Heat Nano Salon Pro 2000 Professional Salon Hair Dryer With Nano-Fuzeion Technology: Beauty
Pro's:
dries my hair quickly, frizz free, very powerful, speed and heat control, diffuser comes with hair dryer and snaps in.
Con's:
have to be careful not to drop the diffuser on the floor, because the teeth will break.

T3 Featherlight
I have never had one, but a friend of mine did. Her's overheated several times. For the price this should not have happened. She prefers my FHI hair dryer.

Babyliss Pro

I tried it - returned it.
Wasn't powerful enough for the money. Nowhere near as good as the Metropolis or the FHI hair dryer.

Deva Hair Dryer
Terrible hair dryer. Diffuser was brutal. Broke up my curl pattern, created frizz. I use it for my dogs.
Type: 3a fine & dense, with normal porosity, terrible product junkie
ROUTINE: LI, enhancer, gel, plop with Curlease towel, serum product (either CIAB or Gel-les'c), clip & diffuse.
Too many favourite products to list ... I finally have my routine that works and alot of products to choose from. My product stash is huge, but well loved !!!
FrizzBgone-Thank you so much for the detailed information. It is SO helpful!

Those who have the FHI Nano, do you like the diffuser it comes with? Or would you recommend a different one?
You're very welcome! I much prefer the diffuser that comes with the hair dryer. I've tried other professional diffusers and have always found them to be a pain in the butt. I like that it clicks into the hair dryer. You don't have to worry about it flying off when you are using it. That was my biggest complaint about the universal diffusers. The rubber band that worked like an elastic to keep the diffuser on the end if the dryer would not always keep it in place. It would slide up and then spring off.

Thank you everyone for the help. I decided to get the Nano Pro 2000. Or at least to try that one out and see what I think.

A little detail in case anyone else in interested in one. I found out from FHI that the warranty is only honored when bought from JC Penny, Beauty Choice and QVC. With JC Penny and QVC it is honored directly by FHI for two years. So I decided to buy from JC Penny since I have one locally I can return to with no hassle. With coupon final cost is $109.00 which I do not think it too bad in comparison with a few others!

Thank you again for all the input. Can't wait to try it out!
