Hey ladies,

I am a natural and have been for 3 years now!! I will never go back to a chemical again. I feel free and ABSOLUTELY love who I am.

So this is why I am writing a feature story on African American women and being natural for my journalism feature writing course. I am a student at Eastern Michigan University.

If ANYONE would love to volunteer to share their own personal story on making the decision on being natural, reasons for why, how long and how the journey has been for you, please let me know. My professor will also need contact information ( name/email address). You can be hair stylists, beauty store owners, and from all backgrounds.

BTW, my name is Monica Porter and my email address is monicadp@umich.edu. The story deadline is June 25th. Many thanks and appreciation in advance.
I recommend posting this on the 4 board, even the 3 board if you want more diversity in curl type.

I posted a thread yesterday asking for a little help with an interview needed for a Journalism class and only two responses. I truly appreciate the feedback from those two users, but I need a little more.

Maybe I didn't explain myself very well. I am an African American natural of 3 years looking for others like myself to help contribute to my article. It is about African American women or women in general that have chosen to were their hair without chemicals. So a little background info would be:

(1) Why did you chose to where your in its natural state?
(2) How long have you been natural/curly?
(3) How has the journey been wearing your hair this way?

Thank you.

monica, how lengthy do you want our responses to be? a couple of paragraphs or do you want more detail? Also would be we post our responses here or PM you? I can write a full page's worth (mini essay) if that's what you'd like.

Monica, do you still need input? I wanted to respond earlier but there were some personal circumstances during my exam period so the past week has been extremely crazy. I know your articles is almost due so I can imagine it might be a bit last minute. Let me know.
