Which length do you like my hair?

Like Tree10Likes

I'm thinking of getting it cut due to Post Partum hormones. My hair is so dry and frizzy. It changed over the course of about three months. At 6 months PP, it looked fine, but now at 9 months it's like my hair died lol. Plus my little one pulls on it all the time!!!!

This was me at 6 months PP for reference...I know it doesn't look that bad at this point...it's gotten worse:

I love, love, LOVE it short!!!!!!
2C/ Coarse/ Normal porosity/ SW Florida/ Salt & Pepper
Cleanse: CJ Daily Fix, JC Cleansing Cream, TJ Tea Tree Condish
Condish: JC Too Shea, CJ Curl Rehab (both as RO & LI)
Stylers: UFD CM, CJ PP, JC Spiralicious, Darcy's Cream Gel & Cocoa bean whip
Thank you! Which one? 2nd or 3rd short?
Either one- you have the face to pull of really short hair! I think I prefer the second one though.

Thank you again! I'm definitely leaning towards the second one if I do it. I'm still hesitating because right now I don't have much time to style my hair...I wet bun it most days. However, if I remember correctly, when it was short it didn't take THAT long to style. And it would certainly take less time than wearing it down now, and I need a hairstyle I can wear down to look professional. However, I'm not sure me with short curls looks professional or child-like LOL.
I don't think it looks childlike, and I think short hair is much easier than long. Do it!

I like the third one best, but I like the second one too. Your hair looks great in both.

All looks suit you but the second photograph is amazing in that the style really draws attention to your eyes. To me it looks professional because your hair is well groomed, a child has fluffy bedhead-ish short curls.

You looks gorgeous with short hair. Like a combination between Audrey Hepburn and Julia Ormond in Sabrina(s). It doesn't look childish at all. Honestly, you have to cut it again. You just have to. Like now. I love both the second and third cuts but I agree with Firefox that the second, for whatever reason, does draw attention to the eyes.

LOL...well thank you very much!

I did like it short, but I've never had long long hair. This is why I'm torn...I feel like I need to have mid back or waist length hair just once in my life to see how I like it...is that weird? Plus, my mom doesn't like my short hair...I know...I'm a 30 year old wimp that still listens to her mama sometimes.

All these super nice short loving compliments are really making me think harder on this though.

I'm in the same boat, Fluffy. I haven't had super long hair in a while so that's why I'm trying to get it there now. Well, here's the silver lining--if you cut it and once your hormones stabilize, you can grow it out nice and long and super healthy. It'll grow out faster if you're not having to deal with the breakage or dryness you're dealing with now. And, in the meanwhile, you get to look chic and stylish. You also won't have a baby pulling your hair which should be a welcome reprieve.

Haha I know right?! Here's the kicker...I'm trying to get pregnant again. We want 2-3 kids, so this disaster isn't ending anytime soon with the hair lol. I think I may try a few more product changes before making the final decision. The other problem is I shed a ton after pregnancy...so much that now I have a complete line of new growth along my temple...all the way around!!! Tons of short tiny little curls...they are probably going to look ridiculous with long hair in a few months. *sigh* Decisions decisions.

I just wonder if things will get any better once it's longer and one length you know? I'm so so tempted to chop. I love the idea of long hair...but I just don't know if my hair was made for it. It's very thick and unruly....I only have stellar spiral curls when it's super short. Plus everyone on "mothering" boards says that if I chop I will have to spend more time on it than just pulling it back in a bun. I'm also worried that if my hair is this dry at this length...will it be a giant afro puffball at a super short length? Can someone please see into the future for me lol?

My 2 cents…

First of all, you are stunning. I also love your curls in the second picture (I can't see the 3rd for some reason) and I really love your eyebrows in that one as well!

I have heard that having shorter/shortish hair can be higher maintenance in the sense that you need to get it cut/shaped more often to keep a certain look. I've only heard that info from anyone sporting a pixie cut. When you do decide to grow it out there is always that awkward stage.

Longer hair is a different sort of high maintenance including deep treatments, using more product, longer showers and longer drying times, the list goes on.

It's nice to have the option to put it up/back for a different look and get it out of you and your baby's way. I would be torn as well, it's a huge decision, but you have a great support group here and we all just want you to know that you will be beautiful no matter what hairstyle you choose!
