Default Botticelli Babe on Etsy?

I was planning to decide between an order from Spiral Solutions and Botticelli Babe on Etsy, but Botticelli Babe's page seems to be taken down. Anyone know what's going on?

Users on another thread said she was forced to close shop because she was not mailing out products or responding to disputes.

You don't want to order from her.

I'm still waiting for a refund through paypal She hasn't responded to any communication so far. It's a shame it sounds like should could have had a really nice booming business just from the word of mouth advertising

Oh my gosh! Hadn't she been selling for quite awhile? Thought I'd heard about her stuff for a long time now. I had never bought from her but contacted her a few months ago for a product recommendation. She wrote back fairly quickly and seemed helpful. Glad I didn't order--that stuff wasn't cheap! I'm so sorry to hear that you haven't received your product, JA!! You should get your money back.

She didn't close the store, Etsy closed the store down. Run an advanced search there was a recent thread on this.

I'm in the middle of a Paypal dispute now. She has until June 22 to reply... Then I guess paypal refunds me? Not really sure what the plan is. But it'll get taken care of somehow

That doesn't seem like Erin at all. I don't know her personally but I've bought her products of and on for about 5 years. I loved Suds and her FSG and her Conditioners. She always responded to my messages promptly, within 24 hours. I never had an issue with ordering, payment, etc and she's super sweet. Something must be up. She does have a family and I'm pretty sure she's a stay at home mom.

It's been a pretty consistent downward spiral, from not answering messages, to taking months to ship out orders, and then basically stealing from people by not delivering at all. I could understand if she didn't want to or couldn't sell anymore, but if that was the case she should have stopped taking orders. She deserves the bad rep now.

If she has family problems she should have suspended her Etsy store which is super easy to do, she didn't she shipped the odd item out weeks and weeks late and continued to accept new orders. The fact that some orders were still being mailed out without proper communication suggests she isn't in a hospital bed with two broken arms, just being unprofessional.

I found this thread by searching because I've been waiting on an order for 38 days and I knew I was getting close to the PayPal dispute deadline. I've contacted her twice and had no response, really nice emails both times. Her shop now says she had a family emergency and is working to get everything out, but I still haven't heard back. Guess I'll file too.

I have such a hard time buying this. She took a month to ship out my order and didn't respond well to emails back in February. If she's been having family issues since then, why has she been accepting orders? It's a little too late now.

My dear friend has a successful etsy business. Over the past few years her mother fell terminally ill and passed away, her father has developed serious health problems, she's had to deal with family discord and relationship issues, putting herself through school, legal problems, you name it! Tip of the iceberg here. Honestly, you guys couldn't even imagine. I can't even and I've watched her bear through it all. But she is ever the professional. She ships things out on time, answers emails promptly, and that is why her business is thriving. There's never an excuse to be that discourteous to your customers. If this Botticelli gal couldn't handle the orders she should've closed up shop ages ago. As others have said, it's not that hard to do.

I've spent a lot of money on Etsy, mostly on hair-related items. Most vendors are great. Sometimes they develop health or family problems, and all that I've dealt with have either temporarily closed shop with a notification, or personally contacted buyers to let them know what was going on. If a sale is already in the works, or there is a custom order (done lots of those, too), it is incumbent upon the store owner to keep the customer informed as to whether there will be a delay, and for how long. You can't just string people along. It's bad for business, and it's not ethical. Whatever is going on, I hope it gets resolved, but this is not how to conduct business.

Don't let this dissuade you from buying on Etsy. I've actually had some great vendor interactions there--many true artists, and many of them are really sweet people and treat their customers very well.

Exactly. I own my own business, and one of the first lessons I learned is how to manage client expectations.

It would be one thing to say on the listing "item will ship in 4-6 weeks", but it is stated she ships once a week. So the expectation is you'll have it quickly. So, it's a disappointment when you go weeks without the product...and she doesn't emails, so it's disappointing and frustrating.

Has anyone heard anything? I haven't. Mine is currently in a paypal dispute, she hasn't responded. I haven't ordered prior to this, but I know this is completely out of character for her given what a successful business she ran for years prior. I do hope she's okay. I wish she had just been able to contact people and let them know instead dog just disappearing. It would have made a world of difference, but maybe that just wasn't possible.
