Looking for product recs

Hi all - I've been CG for a number of years and am looking to change up my product line up and need some recs! I think I'm figuring out that mousses work better than gels for me (I've been experimenting with the Devacurl foam and am going to play around with the Paul Mitchell mousse this week - any other recs for a lightweight mousse with good hold and volumizing attributes? I tried the Joiwhip years ago and might give that another try, too) - but I'm really wondering what people are finding to be the best *lightweight* products to promote clumping. I also tried recoil years ago but if I'm remembering right it was kind of heavy in my hair (does that sound right?). I have fine hair and love the clean, lightweight feeling mousse leaves me with but feel like I'm missing one element that might help with better clumps.

I don't usually use a leave-in because my hair is so fine but when I do it's usually just a tiny bit of my regular conditioner - but that's never really worked too well for me in terms of clumping.

TIA for any suggestions!

Have you considered conditioner only styling? Some of the fine hairs on the Wavy Hair Community are liking the curl and bounce. How To Style Naturally Curly Hair (Styling Your Hair)

For me leave in conditioner is critical to clumping. Without the emollients encouraging hair strands to adhere you may need to weigh your hair down with a very sticky/ gluey styling product.

Oils and clumping Mineral Oil Versus Coconut Oil: Which is better?
You might also try okra gel or flaxseed gel. Do also be aware that clumping and volume are not fully compatible.

Flour sack towel, pixie diffuse or air dry.

Thanks for your thoughts on this firefox!

I do realize that since my hair is fine and doesn't have much volume naturally I'll have to sacrifice probably a good deal of clumping to achieve any volume. I'm hoping I can find something that can maybe help at least just a little.

Do you (or does anyone) have any specific leave-in suggestions? It's been a long time since I've used an actual leave-in vs a drop of my regular conditioner but maybe that will end up being the answer

I've heard mention of flaxseed gel over and over in the past but since I'm not a regular board-reader I never read enough to understand what people love about it - is it just really good for clumping?

I'm intrigued by the conditioner only idea too but I feel like it would be too heavy on my hair - I will definitely have to read up on this and experiment!
