Looking for a CGfriendly curl creme

Hi curlies!

First of all I want to vent:
The wind destroyed my curls today (we're having 6 Beaufort which is quite windy) and I'm attending a BBQ in an hour (so don't have time to wet my hair which takes 6+hours to dry). In the past couple of months I already tried fixing my hair by adding gel or mousse on dry hair, but that didn't work out fine because of the structure... Gel makes it to crunchy and isn't that easy for me to apply on dry hair, mousse is a mess on dry hair for me.
I also tried conditioner on dry hair which is OK but not great (same goes for oils).
Out of pure desperation I took some curl creme I still had and put it on my hair. Curls are looking much better now and it was easy to apply, so I guess curl creme might be the answer for me.
The only sad thing is that I am trying to be CG and that that curl creme I used has amodimethicone as 14th ingredient. (Should I wash my hair with sulfates next time, or would the body shop rainforest radiance shampoo be sufficient since I just used a bit of the curl cream and only once?)

I have a couple of questions:
1) Do some of you use curl cream on dry hair to fix messed up curls? And does it really help?
2) Does anyone have recommendations for a good CGfriendly curl cream?
3) Just a strange question: do you write "curl cream", "curl creme" or still something else? (am not anglophone, but you probably already noticed that )
2c: fine texture, normal porosity, normal elasticity, normal-high density
CG since March 8th 2013
Low Poo: Rainforest Radiance shampoo
Conditioner: Yes to Cucumbers
Styler: BRHG, Garnier Fructis Gel
PT: Gliss Kur Repair & Volume

There are several things I smooth on dry hair to refresh my curls. The only cream I've found that works pretty well is the CJ Coffee Cream Coco Lite. But what I PREFER is one of these: Spiral Solutions Curl enhancing jelly, Uncle Funky's Curly Magic, or CJ Curls in a Bottle. I don't find any of the above gels to dry crispy. But most other gels and mousses will crisp and are almost impossible to SOTC, so I now avoid them as refreshers on dry hair.

1. Refreshing my hair is not something I've ever been successful with. Sometimes I can get away with wetting one curl and reapplying a styler to it.

2. Not a rec I've tried, but one I'm planning to: Dark and Lovely Au Naturale Curl Defining Crème Glaze

3. Technically there is a difference, but it's mostly a language thing. Cream is English, crème is French. When referring to food cream is a milk product and crème is anything that resembles cream, but is made up other or additional ingredients.

For the most part if a product is made and distributed in the US and they're using the word crème, it's to make their product sound more impressive than what it is. Advertising.

Sometimes when I'm in a hurry I have luck with a spray bottle that is 50% leave-in conditioner (or just regular conditioner) and 50% water. I used to use this to spray in my hair at night in an attempt to wake up with awesome curls (it only works if you twist-braid your hair and then wrap it in some ludicrous silk scarf or sleep cap). Then I started using the diluted spray on my hair in the mornings in a hurry or after work before going out. Most of the time...success!
2B/2C Pourous, medium texture, low elasticity.

Am currently auditioning the following:
Poo/cowash: Dr. Organic Virgin Coconut Oil Shampoo and Boots brand conditioner
Rinse Out: Naked Bounce: Curl Defining Conditioner
Leave in: Diluted Faith In Nature pomegranate and roobois conditioner (50% conditioner, 50% water).
Gel: Boots curl creme (Boots Pink)
Creme: Aveda Be Curly Curl Enhancer

Hair seems to be in some kind of transition. It used to be very curly and now is just wavy.
I swear you and I are on the same journey, Neleke, I have been wondering about trying a curl cream the last few days since getting some interesting results with conditioner only styling!

CURLS Milkshake is OK for restyling, it's not greasy at all. Or you could make up a spray gel with the gel you have?

I have tried spraying a lot of things (spray gel, spritz water, spray 50%water/50%conditioner) and it doesn't work for me.
I think I may have too much hair (medium-high density) and although I am normal porosity, spray things just sit on my hair in little beads, even after I scrunch...

Would refreshing work with KCKT or KCCC? (those products just arrived on tuesday but didn't try them out on wet hair yet, probably going to try those tomorrow on wet hair, so wish me luck)

I am currently experimenting with sheamoisture curl and style milk. It is really a cream. I am not sure yet if I like it though I am also using their condish that is really rich. I am finding that my hair is a bit oily but it doesn't weigh me down, I just don't like the look or feel. I am working on reducing the quantity I use and if that doesn't do it I may eliminate either the condish or the cream.
