Default Can you get too much protein?

I got my Hair Genie profile back and I am fine/normal/normal and it states I should use products with protein as well as PTs.

Currently I have not been using products with protein, at least not that I know of. I use Deva Poo/OneC/BHRG/Recoil.

I am switching my products to try out some new things but I am wondering if I should limit the amount of protein products I use? For example just starting with the conditioner or Low Poo?

Would love your thoughts!

My hair is fine/low porosity and never met a protein it didn't like. I do at least one PT a week and use a lot of products with protein. Summer (high dewpoints) is a time when hair seems to like even more protein. Some of the coarser, protein sensitive curlies can up their use of "certain" proteins.

I've been using more and more protein and my hair has never been better! I think using more in the high dews helps keep the moisture/protein balance in check since there's so much more moisture in the air.

I do PT once a week. Some of my conditioners have protein (I rotate them around) and also some of my products, but I don't seek it out in products.

My hair isn't coarse and it could do without protein. My hair tolerates certain proteins, but for the most part they have no positive effect and they just make my hair stiff and dry.

You'll be able to tell if you're using too much protein.

Start with a weak protein in an everyday conditioner, if that works switch to a hardcore protein in a deep treatment, if that works try both. You could just purchase Colorful neutral protein filler and doctor products you already have.
