Avocado treatment and unexpected results

Today is my off day from work and I decided to try an avocado treatment on my hair. I used 1 avocado and 2 tsps of EVOO. Blended it, and left it on for about an hour and a half. I didn't wash my hair but I did cleanse with ACV before hand.
Anyway I'm not sure what I was expecting, but it wasn't this.
I towel dried my hair which i don't usually do because it creates tons of frizz. But when I took of the towel I had hair that was similar to my first cherry lola treatment. Flat hair with zero frizz.
I was surprised, does anyone else use avocado in their hair? If so what were your results.

Assuming you can release the avocado oil from the cell walls it should have a very similar effect to olive oil anyway, they are both rich in oleic acid. I get flat hair no frizz when I haven't washed all the oil out properly, usually that means greasy hair by day two but you might not notice that having a different curl pattern.

Oh wow, my hair is wet in the pics above, but my hair isn't oily at all it's slightly dry. Kind of like I did a protein treatment which I didn't unless avocado has protein in it?? I'm not sure. Thanks for sharing your experience! :-) i've never heard of avocado oil. I use used an avocado. I'll have to look it up.

But I can get red palm oil and coconut oil for cheap so not gonna complain! The fatty acid profile of avocado oil is similar to olive oil but the texture is lighter so some prefer it.

There are tiny amounts of protein in whole avocados, but most of that will be locked up in the cell walls so I doubt you'd get protein overload. If your hair looks and feels good that is great!

Avocados do have protein in them but I use to do those treatments all the time my hair loved them

I Have had good results with avocado. My hair responded very good to it. Shiny, soft and good curl formation. Will be doing that treatment soon again. My recipe was the same as yours but I also added honey.

Thank you a for responding!:-) After my hair was completely dry it felt great!. Also I did not use the honey because my hair doesn't seem to like it for some reason. I might try the honey and avocado as a facial mask with only .5 tsps of olive oil. I'm happy most of you have had good results.
Next on my list to try is bentonite clay:-)
I may try this but with coconut oil. Thanks for posting!
