Shea Moisture Has a Detangler??

1 Attachment(s)
So i went to target today to get some more SM raw retention shampoo, and the SM deep treatment Masque to try.. When I stumbled across the SM "Raw shea butter extra-moisture detangler".
It looks similar to KCKT, i'm guessing it's there competitor product?
I'm excited to try it!:-)

I think you're right. I saw someone review both products on YouTube and and found them to be very similar although she chose SM over the KCKT. I also bought the SM but am currently in the fence about how I feel about. I will try again to be sure.

Oooooh, can you post the ingredients? Naturally, I just bought a new bottle of KCKT, but one can never have too much, right? :toothy10:

I never knew they had that! Let us know how it is (:

Sure let me get on my laptop for that one, and my KCKT ran out yesterday, i was actually going to get more at target also when I saw the SM and got it instead.

Yeah! If you look on target they have soooo many not well known things, like a leave in, a mousse, styling gel, and more

That's interesting because I have been experimenting with mixing a little SM condish with KCKT as a leave in. I'm not sure if its helping but it isn't making my hair worse, that's for sure. I'll have to check it out.

CurlyInTheFog 07-03-2013 07:50 PM

It doesn't seem to be available anywhere except Target for some reason, and I'm pretty sure my local Target doesn't have it. I couldn't find ingredients, either, so I'll be grateful when Always@night has a chance to post them. Thank you! :hello2:

CurlyInTheFog 07-03-2013 07:53 PM

Oh, and I sure wish they'd get it together and get their website up and running. I keep seeing new products, but availability is limited (or non-existent, seems like). I'm not sure if these are being market-tested, or what, but I'd like to test some of them on myself! If they had an actual website, maybe I'd be able to see if some of the more elusive items really exist.

Sorry guy's I will post them later tonight when I have access to my laptop :-) I am still mobile for now. But it is safe to say for me KCKT has completely been replaced. I was blown out of the water, with the detangler.

Always@night 07-03-2013 09:13 PM

Ingredients as listed on product: Deionized Water, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter)*, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil*, Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil, Vegetable Protein, Melia Azadiracha (Neem) Seed Oil, Algae Extract, Behentrimonium Methosulfate, Hyssopus Officinalis Extract, Salvia Officinalis (Sage) Leaf and Equisetum Arvense Extract, Essential Oil Blend, Citric Acid Tocopherol (Vitamin E)

I got these ingredients from the bottle I brought that you see in the picture in my first post. I copied the ingredients exactly as they appear on the bottle.

Uh oh. And Target needs $50 for free shipping, too!

Thank you for posting this! Is it just as slippy as KCKT? What makes it better? I do like that it has some protein in it.

Always@night 07-04-2013 03:27 AM

The slip is the same a KCKT in my opinion, but unlike KCKT, less is more. I used it after washing my hair which was super tangles because I don't really avoid tangles when shampooing. I split my hair into four sections and used only a pea/dime sized amount for each. My hair was actually moisturizes and detangled. Since i had to leave the house it was the only product I had in my hair. Upon returning home, I misted my loose hair that I had worn out, and it was still as detangled as when I left.
So I would say its more moisturizing than KCKT. It works faster than KCKT. I used less of it than KCKT and the price is the same. These r just my opinions and results. Also it didn't weigh my hair down or flake, and once my hair was dry it was very soft and managable.

Just thought I add my two cents. I wasn't impressed with KCKT for slip. The CJ Smoothing Lotion I love is twice as slippery and it's also a leave-in conditioner and doesn't make my hair limp like KCKT.

Does it work with KCCC? I know the curling custard doesn't play well with others and you have to use it with KCKT. Nut if the SM detangler is similar, maybe it's okay?

I can't answer that I don't use KCCC, nor do I use the SM Curling Soufflé. But as far as slip goes It glides easily through my hair, and i used it alone, and left it in my hair, and it came out nicely. Although I wouldn't recommend it for hold, but i was going for big hair.

naturaldoll 07-04-2013 08:47 AM

Thanks for answering tho :) it sounds good I guess I'll just have to test it myself.

I tried this and kckt both were pointless to me since I can detangle with my rinse out conditioner
