Too much conditioner?

I just started the CG method a few days ago and I'm not sure if I'm doing it "properly"
I'm wondering if I'm applying too much conditioner because my hair takes such a long time to dry. Like it's still not dry from my wash last night.
Before I started CG, my hair dried under like two hours if it had little to no product in it. So, yeah, I'm just wondering if this drying time is to be expected or if I should go easy on the amount of conditioner I put in my hair. I feel comfortable putting a lot in because I know my hair is dry.
My big thing is I don't want to be doing this wrong because my hair needs so much help...
Air drying over up to six hours is fairly normal, longer if you tie your hair up or wear a sleeping cap. You could try scrunching out a little more water after you apply your styling product, if that doesn't make it frizzy. In some dew points/ humidities using a lot of humectants can really slow drying time.

My hair is very dense and it takes 6-8 hours to dry.
