CG day 54 - Finally great hair! Pic!

Today is CG day 54 and I have finally been able to repeat great hair! I first achieved this hair on July 4, but failed to write down what I did, and finally today got a repeat. I'm so excited! Unfortunately it is 10pm and I am not really sure that this style will survive the pineapple /-|

I thought I would share a pic to memorialize this day and for me to know that the previous 52 days of crappy, frizzy, unmanageable hair CAN be a relic of the past!

Here is what I did: cowash with devacare, comb thoroughly, rinse thoroughly. SM curl and shine condish for RO, comb thoroughly, rinse thoroughly. mix 2 pumps SM curl and shine with equal amount KCKT and mix thoroughly in hands, distribute through hair, comb thoroughly. Distribute small amount of SM curl and style milk (maybe equal to one pump of condish). Scrunch n pump. Modified LOOSE tshirt turban for 5 minutes. Gently scrunch hair 1x per section with t shirt (4 sections). Clip roots. Air dry 2 hours, diffuse dry.

I know there is a lot of combing in this routine, but I have found that it is essential for frizz management.

Now I just have to find a way to reduce this from a 3 hour process to a half hour! Thanks for all of the very helpful advice you have all given me!

It looks good! It's funny that you need to comb so much, because I'm the opposite. My curls get frizzier if I mess with them too much. I'm actually getting really good curls, but I'm having some trouble with the very back of my head. I don't seem to be scrunching/diffusing it very well. I guess it could be worse, because for the most part people aren't looking at the back of my head so much, but it kinda bugs me.

That SM Milk is great stuff, isn't it? I'm thinking about ordering the SM conditioner--the one you use is the coconut and hibiscus one, right? Does it seem pretty moisturizing? I'm using Tresemme Naturals right now, and it's cheaper and works pretty well, but you know...product junkie. I'm always looking for the product that's better than what I'm using now!

Thanks! Yes, I have problems with the back of my head, you can't see it, but I have a slightly frizzy area on the back as well, I think it is actually due to product distribution. I do use the coconut and hibiscus condish. It is very moisturizing but can be heavy and greasy if you don't rinse thoroughly. But I am having success using it as a LI when mixed with KCKT which lightens it up just enough. I am also a PJ, but now that I have had good results with some products, I am not planning to change this up for a while. I may however look at my PT and DT. My next change will be my cowash since I am looking to avoid glycerin which is high on the list in my devacare.

Thanks! It has been a long road. I will still have plenty of bad hair days I'm sure!

That is true for me as well if I mess with them too much after product has "set" in my hair. I only comb while sopping wet and very little while distributing product.
