Most of my life actually. I had a very short relationship with a perm, for about a year in college, but I did my BC last year for heat damage, not chemical.

I wasn't allowed to perm my hair growing up.

Next month will be a year and a half for myself. Time flies!

When I was young, I didn't get my first perm until I was 13. Then my relationship with the creamy crack ended may 2012. I've been natural for a month now. (Time flies) now I'm recuperating from heat damage. All throughout my transition, I blew dry and pressed my hair twice a month. But now I have put both down and use a hooded dryer to deep condition for 15 minutes on low heat. I'm loving my natural journey & my hair is healthier for it.
From the time of my BC its been 2 1/2 years. From my last relaxer its been 3 years and 2 months.

Cleanse: SM Moisture Retention or Suave Naturals shampoos
Co-Wash: Suave Naturals, L'Oreal EverCreme or EverCurl
RO/Detangler: Tresseme Naturals, GVPCB
Leave-In: SM Curl Enhancing Smoothie, TN, GVPCB
Styler: EcoStyler, GF Pure Clean gel, KCCC

Just discovering my hair likes protein!

I started transitioning December of 2009, but would get blowouts from the Dominicans every so often. I stopped doing that in 2010 and would only put heat to my hair for special occasions, like prom and graduation.
8 years. Almost 6 Loc'ed the last 2 loose.
