medium fine/normal/normal - What do you use?

Got my 2nd hair analysis back today. Previously I was fine/normal/normal and now I am medium fine/normal/normal. I am also a 3b who lives in Orlando so there is alot of humidity!

For awhile I have been using:
Deva No Poo
Deva One C
Recoil
BRHG

My hair seemed to be over conditioned and weighed down so recently I switched to:
Kinky curly knot today
BRHG

But, it does not seem to be helping too much. I tried a sample of CJ products when I thought I needed protein but they didnít seem to do too well on my hair. But, I only tried them twice. My hair just doesnít seem to be clumping like it used to and appears to still be weighed down.

Would love to hear what others with my hair type are using!

Thanks so much!

I know many love the Deva no poo and one C, but I can't seem to use either. Both seem to coat my hair and make it feel dirty/greasy. This happens for me right away but others seem to get build up after using a while. Maybe clarify and then use your other leave ins and see if that makes a difference?

I am having good luck with co washing with either TN or VO5 kiwi lime squash, then using a heavier GVP condish w protein (the Joico dup) as a RO. I don't leave condish in my hair. That's just too much for me. I may use some recoil or not, but I scrunch in the LA sport gel or some BRHG to finish. I am also in a hot and humid climate (GA) and gel is a must these days.

HTH!

Hey! I'm in Tallahassee, so we deal with a lot of humidity too. I use all the products in my signature. Also, I've been using the Tousle Me Softly conditioner from Herbal Essence, which is good by not CG if you care about that. The other day I used the TMS conditioner, SM Curl Enhancing Smoothie, and Suave Captivating Curls Mousse. The mousse and conditioner are not CG. I feel like the SM Smoothie helps me a lot with frizz and locking in moisture. A CG version of that for me would be Yes to Carrots condish (as rinse out and leave in), SM smoothie, and LA Looks Gel.

Also, the gelatin protein treatment does magic for my hair.

According to CurlMart ingredient list, NoPoo has polyquat 7. Some of the CJ products have polyquats, too. Re Coil has a polyquat as the second ingredient. My hair doesn't care for them, so I don't use products that contain them.

You may want to check ingredient lists and see what has polyquats and which ones. You could do a clarifying shampoo and avoid polyquats for a while to see if they've caused your issues.

There's no protein in your routine. I would recommend starting some PTs and having at least one product (maybe an RO) with a good amount of protein. CJ "strengthening" products don't have nearly enough protein in them IMO unless we're talking Repair Me.

Do you have a suggestion for a RO with protein? I have fine hair, too, and I'm looking to add more protein in.

The GVP Reconstruct that I use has protein fairly high up on the ingredient list. It seems to be enough protein for me. I tried it hoping it would help my ends, which are damaged from highlights, etc. I like it and have repurchased now several times. It gives nice slip too, so I can comb my hair out or use a tangle teaser after I've slathered this in my hair and it detangles nicely. If you just want to give yourself a boost, you may like the DIY gelatin PT that's popular here. I recently tried it and was very pleased. It's easy to do and easy to customize.

Thanks everyone. Since my hair is medium fine the analysis said that protein was not a must all the time, just every once in awhile. I may try some products with it just to see

I may try and switch out things one by one to see what helps. I really need to find a good curl enhancing product. I am finding that gel alone isn't working but the recoil seems to weigh down my hair.

Any suggestions would be helpful!

EO Keratin, Mill Creek Keratin & Biotin, Nature's Gate Biotin, Giovanni Smooth as Silk. Here's some other suggestions. http://www.naturallycurly.com/curlta...ditioners.html Look at the back... the higher up the protein is on the ingredients list the stronger it is. Not all protein conditioners function the same way... concentration of protein makes a big difference so keep that in mind when making a selection.
