Is washing your hair everyday really that bad? :P

I can't remember if Ive asked this before, but....

As of right now I don't wash my hair everyday because its summer and it doesn't need to look good, but this year I will probably have to because Im playing a sport that has practice everyday and everybody needs a good shower and hair wash after sweating like crazy. Plus I want it to look good for school everyday....

Is it ok then, to wash it everyday? Im using devacurl No-Poo and conditioner, so nothing too drying, I think....

thanks!

Oh and also I noticed many of you have a description at the bottom of your posts and comments saying your curl type, products etc. How do you do that?
It all depends on your hair. There are plenty of us here who cleanse daily without any issues- and if you're using No-Poo you probably wouldn't have a problem.

Can't help you with the signature because I haven't tried to toy around with that yet... But I cowash my hair almost every day (I run a lot and get super sweaty). My hair doesn't seem to mind
To each their own. I do not think it is ''unhealthy'' for your hair (as long as you don't use harmful ingredients). I personally don't wash everyday because:

- I worry about not being able to prevent pulling hair strands out of my scalp when detangling. It's very little but everytime I wash I pull out or break a few hair strands. I know it's normal, I just do not want to do this every day.
- It's just too much of hassle; washing, conditioning, detangling, styling and drying my hip length, highly dense hair every day. I cannot imagine doing this; it would drive me completely insane.
- Costs. I use a butt load of product every time for my, again, hip length and highly dense hair. I cannot do this every day, I simply do not have the money to buy a new butt load of different products every week.

Limiting my answer to your last question, on the left most end of the first turquoise bar, which goes most of the way across your screen, you'll see "CP" (which stands for Control Panel). When you pull down that menu, the third section down is "Settings & Options". The second choice under that heading is "Edit Signature". Click on that, and you will be able to add the information you choose to share at the close of every message you post.

I think you're fine washing as often as you need to as long as you're not using anything harsh. If you find washing more often dries out your hair then cut back. Besides, you've got the rest of the summer to see how often you can get away with washing, right?
I have actually wondered this too. However, lately I have been washing almost everyday because I go swimming a lot and I don't want to not wash it. There was a blog that I was reading that stated you can get hygral fatigue but there are a bunch of other factors. But if you have to wash it, you have to wash it- that is how I am doing it lately lol.
High Porosity, Fine, Thin Density, Low Elasticity
Co-wash, leave in, and gel: Alba botanica coconut cond., ogx mousse, &/or super wet look gel.

I wash twice a week & my hair doesn't seem to mind.
Thank you everyone for your help, I have updated my signature and I think I will go ahead and wash everyday, since most of you seemed to think that was ok....?
Products: Devacurl No-poo, Conditioner, and Ultra Defining Gel
Hair Type: Somewhere between 2C (The back of my hair) and 3A (The Front of my hair)

Been CG for about a year, still trying to figure out my hair
I have no problem with it. I used to when I used sulfate-based shampoos but if I low poo or cowash daily (scalp only, not the lengths) I'm fine.
2A/B. Mix of fine, medium, and coarse (mostly medium). Dense. Mix of normal and high porosity.

This would probably dry my hair out, but I do cleanse more. It's just impossible not to when you work out a ton.
