FINALLY!

I have struggled with CG for months- since November. I've tried absolutely everything from products to techniques to nightly prayers. Ive had A LOT of frustration and many many bad hair days.

My hair was lovely today and I'm so happy. It may be a fluke, of course, but right now I'm basking in the glow of happy hair. I'm a teacher and today was our first day back, so I hadn't seen many of my coworkers since May. I really wanted it to look nice today since I hadn't seen everyone for so long, and my prayers were answered. I had more compliments than I could handle!

Thank you guys all so much for sharing your wisdom with me. I learn each and every day from you all. Here's to hoping I have many more great hair days to come!

Jess, JCTS is Jessicurl Too Shea. I really like it, but it's pretty expensive. You can probably find some on the swap board if you wanna give it a try.

So I cowashed with TN and used YTCarrots as my rinse out. I combed with a wide toothed comb while my YTC was on. I also mixed a few drops of Colorful Neutral Protein Filler in with my YTC- it's the only protein my hair can seem to tolerate. I rinsed really well, then flipped over and raked a dime sized amount of JCTS as my leave-in. It's a great anti-humectant for my 60s dews. Then I smoothed on my Bioterra Curl Cream. I don't have polyquat issues, so I really like the Bioterra products. I need to be able to run to Sallys when I run out of stuff I smoothed it on between the palms of my hands (still upside down). Then I flipped back up and used the super soaker method to get my clumps going. Then I emulsified about half a palmful of Bioterra gel and a small squeeze of BRHG in my hands (the Bioterra gel by itself doesn't have enough hold, but the BRHG is too strong and sticky and expensive! and the two mix to make the perfect texture for me) and scrunched and pumped it in while leaning my head over to the left, then the right. One palmful per side, then a little more in the back and smoothed over my crown. I used my flour sack towel to scrunch out water- left, right, then upside down. Then I plopped in a new flour sack towel for about 10min. I scrunched again with the towel, holding each palmful of hair for about 20 seconds (chupie's mini-plop). I then pixie diffused for only about 5 minutes to just set the curl (one min. per section). I let air dry the rest of the way and scrunched out the very small amount of crunch I had. Voila! Aaaannnnndddd I got second day hair today, too. Pretty unheard of for me.

Wow, WavyRoo! Your hair is PERFECT in these photos! I love how you get tight curls up top and looser waves down below. It's unique and utterly glam!

Curlytwirlykate- you made my day. My insane root curl always makes me feel so uneven- like my ends are scraggly and weird compared to the top. That was the best compliment you could have possibly given me. Thank you

I bet if I pixie cut it I'd be a curly rather than a wavy...
