Question Travelling to Europe, suggestions for packing?

So I'm travelling to Europe in November. My itinerary is: 2 days in Lourdes, 10 days in Rome, 1 week in Ireland. I'm trying to pack only a carry-on (which may not happen depending on what kinds of foods, i.e., peanut butter, I decide to take because of a food allergy), which means no more than 3 ounces of a given product. Usually I have to wash my hair every day, or at least every other day, just because I'm too oily and my hair does NOT cooperate the second day

I'm concerned that I will run out of conditioner before the end of the trip. Does anyone know any good silicone-free products that can be bought easily in Rome or Dublin? I've got a soy allergy, so bonus if it's also soy-free!

Right now my products are: Chagrin Valley Butter Bar Shampoo Bar, Beautiful Curls Curly to Kinky conditioner, and Deva Curl AnGEL (which I'll be transitioning out of when I reach the end of this bottle, because it contains soy).

I'm afraid I don't know about Lourdes or Rome, but there are two Boots, The Chemist shops in Dublin. I'm only familiar with their (pink) Boots Curl Creme, which is incredible, and apparently often on sale. However, I know they have products which are CG because I see comments about them here and there.

There's an internet page devoted to hair care, but I'm absolutely certain there should be more listed there, like their house brand curl creme.

Awesome, thanks! I think Ireland will be the last week of my trip, so that'll be right when I need to stock up.

Boots the chemists also sell treseme naturals conditioner. They also sell the Naked hair range. They don't have non soluble silicones. Some I think do have soluble cones or polyquats, which is why some strict cg ers will not use the whole range. Check the ingredients before buying.

I think you can pack more than one 3oz bottle of each hair product. You can always order from amazon.com and have it shipped to you, wherever you are or plan to go. Enjoy the trip!

I did 2 weeks in England this summer - there is NO WAY I could have done just a carry on!!! Lol!!

I took only a co-wash, and a tiny bit of low poo. I took plenty of gel!! I ended up putting my hair up a lot of the time, anyway, because of wind, rain, humidity, etc.

I totally forgot to pick up Boots while I was there!!! I was so mad at myself!! Lol! But it's available here, too, so I'll eventually get it.

Sounds like a great trip! Enjoy!!

Sorry a bit off topic but I don't want you to waste luggage space. Are you sure it is permitted to bring the food items you are thinking of into Europe? There are certainly health food stores selling soy free food items in Dublin.

There is a list of Curly Girl friendly UK high street products (Dublin probably stocks much of the same as we do) on the British Curlies website.

Boots have their own brand Essentials pale purple gel in clear tub (a really basic medium hold gel)
"Water, PVP carbomer, phenoxyethanol, aminomethyl propanol, PEG-40 hydrogenated castor oil, sodium benzoate, sodium methylparaben, dipropylene glycol, fragrance, benzophenone-4, tetrasodium EDTA, benzyl salicylate, butylphenyl methylpropional, limonene, hydroxycitronellal."

Boots also have Umberto Giannini Flirty Curls Scrunching jelly in a dark pink tube (a harder hold more clumpy version of Curl Keeper)
"Water, xanthan gum, glycerin, propylene glycol, phenoxyethanol, acrylates/palmeth-25 acrylate copolymer, polyquaternium-11, PEG-40 hydrogenated castor oil, sodium benzoate, dipropylene glycol, aminomethyl propanol, sodium methylparaben, fragrance, benzophenone-4, coumarin, butylphenyl methylpropional, alpha-isomethyl ionone, linalool, CI 17200."

All over Europe is Schwarzkopf Gliss (Kur) ultimate volume conditioner in a dark purple bottle (protein rich, oil free, curl boosting, decent clumping as a leave in).
"water, cetearyl alcohol, hydrolyzed collagen, panthenol, cocodimonium hydroxypropyl hydrolyzed keratin, hydrolyzed keratin, isopropyl myristate, behonoyl PG-trimonium chloride, citric acid, VP/VA copolymer, phenoxyethanol, behentrimonium chloride, sodium methylparaben, hexylene glycol, fragrance, polyquaternium-37, dicaprylyl carbonate, hexyl cinnamal, amyl cinnamal, limonene, linalool, benzyl salicylate"

A slightly mad option would be to buy some flaxseeds and make 'no cook' flaxseed jelly a couple of days at a time so it's always fresh if flaxseed jelly works for you?

Lourdes is small so ensure you have enough product to cover there.

However you should be able to buy stuff in Rome and if you are going to Dublin as well.

Can you check your carry on? That way you can take larger amounts. I know the last thing i wanted to do while in Rome or Europe was shop for toiletries, lol.

Is this your first time in Europe? While there will be stores to purchase things, they may be out if the way or harder to find. Like a lot if big cities, there really aren't malls downtown. The stores you are looking for may take some work. At the very least, i would recommend compilinh a list if addresses with bus/raul stops before u get there
