Deep Conditioning Treatment - Help?

So I've never really done a deep conditioning treatment before, or any time I tried I wouldn't be able for the life of me properly distribute whatever I was using, but I really think my hair needs a good pick me up and could definitely benefit with some help in the moisture department. Can anyone give me some advice and tips on deep conditioning? And what a good deep conditioner is? Preferably homemade? I'm looking for something moisturizing and frizz reducing, and if it can help add body to my curls that's a great bonus :P And how can I get it thoroughly through my hair? Thank you guys so much!

You could try mixing some conditioner with smaller amounts of honey and aloe gel. (The kind without numbing agents used for sunburn.) Some hair reacts poorly to honey, but it's worth trying.

I opted to try the classic old mayonnaise mask, and it worked well, but not the miraculous softness I was expecting from what I've heard. Still, my moms hair was as dry, tangle, and frizzy as a rats nest (no offense mom) and the mayonnaise masks smoothed her hair soo much it was soft to the touch. I was only able to leave it on about 3 hours so next time I'm going to try over night. It helped, so I'm hoping I'll get even better results next time. I also read about a coconut milk and lime mask that I want to try once I pick up some coconut milk. Supposed to be very good for frizz on curly hair. Thank you for the suggestion if anyone else wants to share their recipes it'd be really helpful.

I use straight up coconut oil. I take about a tablespoon of solidified oil, microwave it for 5-10 seconds to liquefy it, and then coat my hair with, mainly from the middle of the hair to the ends. I coat it well, but not too much- you don't want it dripping or anything! My hair looks super greasy when I'm done.

I just dip my fingers in, spread it on my palms, and take a section of hair, and rub it down over and over until coated. I then bun it.

I sleep in it, then cowash it out in the morning. I really think this has helped my hair a ton.

I microwave together 1T coconut oil and 1T honey, mix, then mix in around 1/2 cup of pretty much any cheap conditioner. That really helps me distribute it and it's easier for me to remove the oil. I leave it on for 1-2 hours, then cowash out.

Thanks guys, I'll be sure to try those 2 out because they sound really good. Have to take back my last comment though, I woke up today with my hair fully dry and it feels like SILK. It's never felt this soft and hydrated before! The mayo really worked! You guys should try it out, trust me it's actually amazing, I'm so surprised lol
