I can't figure out my hair type!

Hello curlies!

So, I've been natural now for just about two months, and my hair changes from day to day. sometimes it's dryer than normal, sometimes it's too soft, etc. Still trying to figure out the right balance of products to use.

Anyways I'm having a hard time typing my hair! First of all, I am Caucasian. I know it's between 3a and 3c. but it's such a mixed bag all over my head! It's looser curls around my face and on top, but the bottom ones are so tiny and coily, could almost be a 4a some days! but the shape of the curl varies from tight ringlet, to a 'z' pattern, to a wave that curls up tightly at the bottom and gives me a weird rounded shape hairstyle.

I would really like to hear any haircut advice, to maybe rectify this odd shape. I've attached two pictures of my hair, one yesterday and one today. I don't know about everyone else, but I notice a huge difference between the two.

I just want to reduce the rounded shape of the bottom, but I am under the impression that the only way to get the curls to relax is to grow them out, right?

Thanks y'all. I can't figure out my hair type!-imageuploadedbycurltalk1376681258.168873.jpgI can't figure out my hair type!-imageuploadedbycurltalk1376681267.729958.jpg
Most people have different curl patterns all over their head, so it's totally normal
I'd say that your hair is probably 3a/3b

Looks 3a maybe some B, could I see the tighter bottom? And don't worry I have a mix too, it's very common.

My is the opposite, it is tighter at the front and 3a/b at the back..But that looks like 3c but has the circumference of 3b which is sharpie size , I'd say 3b because it says it can be tight spirals, but if your hair is just a somewhat tighter than this picture I'd say 3c
