I can never figure out how much leave in to use. How much do you use (quantity wise)?
2A/B. Mix of fine, medium, and coarse (mostly medium). Dense. Mix of normal and high porosity.
Dry climate.

Quarter-size, and then I scrunch with a t-shirt to remove excess.. I was using a LOT more before I realized that my low-po hair wasn't even absorbing it.

I think the higher porosity types tend to use a ton and their hair is happy to have it.
Jessica
Type 2c: coarse, high-density, low porosity (so it would seem)
Avoiding protein and glycerin; going for soft, non-crunchy, frizz-free waves
CO & RO: Tresemme Naturals Moisture
Sealer: Olive oil
Leave-in/Styler: Kinky Curly Knot Today
DT: olive oil and honey
I'm high porosity (highlighted and colored) and dry... I've only been using a quarter size. I feel like I need more but am afraid I'll over do it.

I'd guess about quarter size, but it also depends on what I'm using and what I feel like my hair needs at the time. Right now I'm using Darcy's Pumpkin Seed conditioner, which is really thick and pretty heavy, so I use a little less of that. Something thinner like Tresemme Naturals, or maybe KCKT, I'd use at least a quarter's worth and maybe as much as twice that.

Since you're high porosity in the desert, you could probably easily use way more. I'd try increasing the amount by about 25%, see how it goes, and then increase from there if you want more.
3a/b, F, normal porosity

Wash with either Suave Tropical Coconut, As I Am, or CJ Daily Fix
Condition with STC or Yes to Blueberries and detangle with Denman, rinse very lightly (baptismal rinse)
Add LAL gel, either Sport or Wet Look, scrunch with flour sack towel, and plop
Diffuse 5 minutes, then air dry
One or two quarter size blobs. I start with one, usually emulsified between my hands first, then rake and scrunch it into my hair. If I feel I need more, I do the same with another quarter size blob and finish by smoothing any excess over my canopy.

I use about 2 quarter sized blobs -- one for my length (what hangs off my head) and the other for the top and underneath). That's my standard, regardless of which LI I use.

I use 1-2 nickel sized blobs for my BSL, medium density hair.

Just try using more! It won't make your hair catch fire I promise.

Sorry Firefox I don't know if this is more helpful.

I use about half a teaspoon on my just-past-shoulders, fairly thin and porous hair. I live in a dry climate too (though you wouldn't think it atm!).
