TIGI Bed Head Chocolate Head: confusing directions????

I've realized my hair needs protein treatments. After quite a few baaaaaaaad weeks where I wasn't sure what was going on I did a DT with Ouidad DT and my hair bounced back. But Ouidad is so expensive! I got some Bed Head Chocolate Head for a good price on ebay. It arrived today, but the instructions are strange for a protein treatment. It says to apply AFTER conditioning, leave in for 5 minutes and rinse. I thought it was really important to moisturize after a protein treatment. I don't know whether I should follow the directions or use a moisturizing conditioner after. When I use the Ouidad DT I don't follow their directions exactly. I rinse out the DT completely and then condition with either a protein free or low protein conditioner, sometimes with jojoba oil and/or honey added.

Any ideas? Anyone use Bed Head Chocolate Head?

TIA
I used it years ago but I'm probably not going to be much help. I knew nothing about protein, or anything else for that matter, back then so I'm pretty sure I would have followed the instructions on the bottle. Don't remember any ill effects, but I obviously didn't like it, as I never repurchased. I'm surprised to learn it's a protein treatment actually, as my hair doesn't generally like protein and I've had awful results with other treatments I've tried, don't remember that one giving me the straw like results I've had with other stuff.
