Question about Ouidad climate control gel

What ingredient in this gel makes it work in high humidity? I live in Las Vegas and I've used this gel the past few days with dews in the sixties, humidity around forty percent. I've had the best hair I've probably ever had and even have second day hair. We typically have no humidity and very low dews in LV so I'm wondering how this gel will work in very low dews when our weather returns to normal.

So far this is the only gel that keeps my hair from the tangled mess it always is. I can actually run my fingers through my hair and it doesn't feel producty at all. In the morning my hair has been looking almost exactly as it did when I went to bed which has NEVER happened.
I've been CG since April, co washing but mainly using a low poo since my hair is very fine and thin. I just tried this gel for the first time this week and I really like it so far.
So would that then also work with very low dews?
I remember reading about this previously. It's not the silicone- it's one of the polymers. Whether it would work in low dews will depend on how your hair does with humectants in lower dews. I believe Climate Control Gel also contains glycerin and/or propylene glycol.

It does contain both glycerin and propylene glycol although further down on the list so maybe they won't be an issue.
I'm really hoping it works because I like the way my hair looks since I've started using this. I've never found one product I reallllly like so it would be great if it worked in low dews.

Oh I love Climate Control Gel. It's one of the few non-CG-friendly products I keep in rotation.

I've tried sooooo many gels, creams and mousse over the years and have never found one that doesn't make my hair feel super tangly. That's part of the reason I could never do second day hair, too many tangles. Also, the fact that with this gel I don't wake up with my hair standing on end is a huge bonus. My husband actually asked me this morning if I'd already gotten up and fixed my hair because it wasn't standing straight up.
Well if you like it then come or not stick with it. Clarify once a month.

I do like it. Almost enough to toss all of my other products. I just hope it continues to work when this moister weather stops and it goes back to being really dry.
I would love to try it but recently discovered dimethicone was a huge contributor to my cystic acne. Even clinique was full off it. My scalp and face are so much better without it, my skin overall is better.

So I suppose I won't be able to but it sounds heavenly.
I really wanna try this!

It's a combination of the silicones and polymers (copolymers). VP/DMAPA is excellent in high dews, PVP is better in low-normal dews. The way the product is formulated creates like a stabilized micro-environment (if there could be such a thing for hair) to prevent the hair from being affected by the elements.

Ultimately hair that is not effected by weather is that which is optimally moisturized and balanced, so that's what her product is trying to mimic.

Ouidad has mentioned in quite a few writings that the silicones she uses are water soluble. You cannot tell that by the ingredients list (INCI is detailed but not as specific as it could be) and there are quite a few different types of silicones ( eg, 100s of versions of dimethicone, some light and some heavy) so if you like the product don't worry about what the label says too much. Go by how you like the performance.
