OMG, I'm so excited!

I cannot believe my luck! I have everything I need to try CG after one well-planned day! I tagged along on a trip to WalMart and got the VO5 moisture milks passion fruit smoothie condish (smells great!), and while they were completely out of the exact creme of nature 'poo I wanted (even had the condish), I was undeterred. My mom also grabbed the healthy curls condish I've been using and got it - dang it, keeps on coming back - but it was attached to a tiny container of the suave healthy curls spray gel, so now I have a possible refresher, too! We then went to Trader Joe's, where I bought the nourish 'poo to make up for the shampoo's absence. I figured I can do the wavy girl routine (hard water, hehe) or whatever you call it when you 'poo sometimes.

I also sniffed a tube of TJ's honey mango creme shave and just had to have it, but that's a non-hair story.

I then pondered the issue of the clarifying I wanted to do to start off...and the DT I would need afterward. I ran to the pantry while my mom was outside, got a little plastic container and nicked some molasses to mix with my new VO5 condish, feeling like I was a Harry Potter character stealing from the Potions master, and also like I was way too excited about getting to use molasses. (My mom is one of those who is dead set against using things like honey in hair, or washing with condish, etc.)

So I am looking waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay forward to my shower tonight! Stay tuned for an update tomorrow on how the clarify and DT went, and a bigger update later on my new routine!

In other news, I will also soon review the yummy TJ's shave cream.

*In my haste to share the good news, I've posted this in shampoo-less, too*
OMG, LOOK!!

...It's a siggie.
Good for you! It's always fun to try something new. I hope it works out great for you.

What are you planning on using as a styling product? Or do you use styling products?

Heehee! Thanks!

To Brio, I'm without stylers at the moment, so I'll just go without and focus on healthy hair for now...or I'll break down and use that mini bottle of suave healthy curls spray gel. Either one!

And to lushaholic, I'm watching it right now! Kinda had HP on the brain all day, too...may have been waiting for it...

I can never pass up a chance to see HP. Even if it is twice in a row.

Yay!

I had (and continue to have) so much fun when I started CG (I guess I'm modified now, since I use some water soluble 'cones). Sometimes it's frustrating, but I love experimenting and my hair is so much healthier. I hope it works out well for you! Have fun experimenting.

( I love your HP reference.)

Going CG and trying products and styling methods is the most fun that I have had with my hair in years! I admit though that I am quickly becoming a PJ, but that's a small price to pay for beautiful hair!
3B with some 3a. Fell off but am now back on the CG bandwagon and looking for my HG products.

ITA, you guys crack me up. My mom used to tell her friends that were freaked out by our crazy hair that if that was the only "freaky" thinks we did then she was lucky. At least we weren't buying/using drugs. It was the early stages of PJ-itis...HA!

Y'all crack me up.

I agree - when I first began to really learn all about curls, the CG routine, and various other unconventional methods and ingredients, I had so much fun. I still do have fun experimenting, but now that I've found what works for me, I don't dabble as much as I used to. But coming to nc.com, I'm always reading about new products and acquiring more tips - the learning process really is never ending.

My sis and I are both huge PJ's - my mom could never understand us and our "addictions." Guess maybe it skipped a generation.

wild sasparilla - have fun with all of your products, and be sure to let us know how everything turns out. You know we're gluttons for that kind of scoop!

BTW, I've clarified and mixed molasses with the VO5 to DT...looked kinda gross. :P And since the VO5 was so watery, it was more like a molasses rinse - and when I put it on in the shower I made a huuuuuuuuge mess! It looked like I'd thrown a bucket of mud or blood or something everywhere! But I managed to get some on my head, and it did feel smooth. Then I put in a tiny bit more of just the VO5 condish as a leave-in to keep it from being too frizzed out from the clarifying (I rinsed out the molasses very soon).

I slept on my wet hair and woke up with it still damp, which has been happening to me a lot with the damp weather lately. Bah! :x I stood under the heating vent for about 5 seconds before it got old, then put my hair in a ponytail after I'd gone thru the whole routine (by this time it was damp in spots). Now...oops! Still in the ponytail! *slaps forehead* Good grief, it's been 12 hours!

Okay, I've removed the pony. Of course the part that was in it is still damp. But the pieces that weren't short enough to get pulled out by it have some loopy ends going on! Yay! That's my hair, alright...it's nice and shiny, too. Molasses is my friend for giving me shine.

I think when I wash next (tomorrow, maybe? or the next day) it will probably be the CWC that I've seen mentioned here, coating the ends with condish, 'pooing and conditioning again. Then I'll leave more condish in, or not rinse completely. I'll admit it...I just want to use that TJ's shampoo I just bought.

I love playing with my hair!!!!
