Default Grow or chop?

So, I had a bob when I started CG. My profile pic is my latest cut (first Deva cut, and i love it). The hairdresser took one look at my hair and said 'graduated bob', however I told him I wanted to grow my hair a bit more so he went with that idea. My next appointment isn't till November, so I have time to think. I've had a bob many times before and like it on me as a hairstyle. When I grow my hair the back tends to hang flat, having the weakest curl pattern. Even with a great cut it does that. I'm wondering if a stacked bob would help with this. Here is me in the early days of CG.

My hair is very similar to yours, in length and pattern. Mine curls more when I grow it though. I got my first curly cut today (not deva cut though), and she stacked my back. While it helped with the thickness, it didn't help a whole lot with an increase in curl. Your hair may act different, but if you'd like to grow it a bit still, I say go with that.

My guess is that a stacked bob would look really good on you ... although what "looks good" is of course subjective. I think more graduated layers would give you more volume and "movement", and possibly tighter curls, if that's what you're looking for.

At the same time, you're asking about the back of your hair. You've said when it gets longer the curl pattern weakens. If you want a stronger curl pattern in that area of your head, I guess you'll have to keep that part of your hair short. ... Or you could just accept that your curl pattern is weaker in back and grow it out and enjoy it and the rest of your hair anyway.
