What kind of curl would you call this?

Just wondered what type of curl you would call this one in front? I wish the rest of my hair would catch up so it all could look like this.. I would be so in love! I didn't form this, it does it all on its own.

It kinda looks like two waves twisted around each other. I get that all over my head, but usually they're smaller than yours.

I don't think they're waves, because they're spiraling. I'd say two spirals turning around each other. Most of my hair does that. Sometimes it looks great, but if they start tightening it looks really ropey and that doesn't look all that good on me.

I can see the issue with the ropiness... mine does that if it's extra dry.. it does look rather weird

I guess I'm just trying to figure out if I'm on the 2 side or the 3 side. My hair is still too short to tell, but I get a lot of these things when it's longer. Honestly, from the pictures on the NC website, I can't tell them apart at all.

I have a had time telling, too. I decided mine's wavy because they're stretched out, but they twist and spiral around so I just call them twirlys lol

I have a hard time telling the difference, too, but to me, S curves are waves (2), and spirals are curls (3). But the longer you're on CG or modified CG, the more you may see your pattern changing.

Thanks for the responses! What if the S's are spiraled? lol
At any rate, all natural hair is pretty no matter what type it is. I'll just be somewhere in between then!

I'm a mix too. I'd say I'm mainly 2c, but I have spirals like you in the front, along the nape, and pretty good root curl.

If the S is spiraled, it's still a spiral, just stretched out. 3a hair that's heavy/thick will often have those stretched spirals--my hair's more stretched at the crown, but down past about ear length the spirals are much more compact. it's just because my hair is heavy. Also I often pull it back with jaw clips in front, and that flattens the curl too.
