Unhappy Look worse with curly hair?

Hey guys, I've finally learned to embrace my curls after stumbling upon this forum abotu 3 weeks ago. Its been almost two weeks since I've started using the cg method using the DevaCare trial bag, which contains - No poo, One C, set it free, light defining gel.

I don't know what to do currently, I might be doing something wrong or might need a hairstyle from a curly approved stylist.

Before (flat iron) (Not the same hair length) :

After with gel:

Dry without gel:

I think you look better with curls. You have great bone structure and curls top you off quite nicely. A little pop and swirl to those shadows and angles. It really highlights your features.

I don't think there is a right or wrong, try and find what works best for you through trail and error:-)
As for the pictures, i think straight hair and curls look lovely on you. You can definitely have the best of both worlds if you so choose. Good luck with finding products that suit your needs.:-)

I agree with Always@night, I think you look good either way. Your hair is almost exactly like my youngest son's, I wish I could get him to use gel, maybe I'll show him your pics.

Love the gelled curls, maybe you are just struggling to get used to looking different in the mirror.

Your curls are amazing. No frizz, honestly perfect. JEALOUS! haha but the only thing I would recommend is to get a proper dry cut from a deva trained stylist to shape your hair how you want it to look. Maybe cut it so the sides aren't so long, because they are giving you a boxy or flat-top appearance.
