Default No-poo routine while coloring hair

If I'm going to go no-poo, is it counterproductive to color my hair at the same time? I have short wavy fine hair, naturally a medium brown color with gray at the roots and hairline. If I don't color it I look washed out. That said, I'd like to stop coloring it because I'm losing my hair!

Which version of no poo, permanent or semi permanent dye, counterproductive in what sense?

Using DevaCurl no poo, or co-washing.
Semi-permanent dye or a color glaze.
Counterproductive because if I'm giving up shampoos in order to get the best curl and health out of my hair as suggested on this site, then using a dye would counteract any benefits, right?
