Default Just Cannot Get 2nd Day Hair

Just whining really. I am new to the whole CG thing and still trying to get a reliable routien down. I have not been able to get 2nd day hair ever. I tried today -- big mistake. I don't think I have one curl on my head and look like a grease monkey. *sigh*

I never get seconf day hair either, and I've been doing this for a while. I just can't get my hair to reclump without going "pouffball" on me.

I have not had success getting 2nd day hair either! Hopefully someone will come along to help us soon. Mine just becomes a poufy mess. I have tried pineappling with the same results.

You are not alone. I just can't get it prepped just right at bedtime so that it looks presentable in the morning. The longer it gets the harder it is. But at least now it is long enough to make a ponytail.

It's a catch twenty-two since those of us with dry curly hair are encouraged by experts not to poo daily, but that is the only way to get presentable curls.

I too can't wait to learn the secret.

I can get second day hair...but it only looks decent if it's up in a clip. If I wanted to leave it down, forget it!

Cannot. Ever. Doesn't matter what I do, and since I am not a ponytail girl, I must wash. Daily.

For those of you who didn't see my thread last week.
I couldn't get second day hair, and pineapples never worked for me, nor hairnets nor slee ping on it blah blah blah.

Now I use a bandana to dry and sleep in and have 3rd day hair pushing 4th, you could all give it a try, might get lucky like I did.

I haven't even tried to yet, because I am having an awesome time with the new products and routine that I haven't bothered to start trying to get 2nd day hair. I used to just throw my hair in a pony or clips the next day out of exasperation but I love the ways my hair looks and feels now after I cowash that I do it every day now. It takes me less time to have an honestly good hair day now with my new CG routine than it did before when I messed with for an hour. I'm sure that I will get into the habit in a few months but maybe not.....

Echokitten, I'm with you. It takes me less time to completely wet it down and start from scratch than to try and get 2nd day hair. I've tried sleeping with a bandana too, and my hair looks ok when I wake up, but as the day goes on, it just gets poofier and frizzier and it just looks bad. And if I try to just rewet with a spray bottle, that ruins the whole thing, and I might as well start over.

So far, the only way I can get second day hair is if I take a curling iron to it and curl it all over. That takes longer than the entire rewet/redo, so I usually don't do that either. I think I'm just not meant to have 2nd day hair.

no 2nd day hair yet here, either. I just look like I have a giant brown dog on my head.

None for me either. I was actually super excited because in my most recent nc.com order I had a satin pillowcase. I thought now here's my chance for second day hair! I slept on it last night, woke up this morning, and . . . second day hair was so not happening. I want to know how these people with 2nd (and 3rd?! ) day hair sleep at night. Sitting up straight? I think I've mostly resigned myself to at least wetting (and usually also conditioning) and reapplying product to my hair every morning . . .

I think this is my current excuse for not wearing my hair curly as often. When I straighten, I can just throw my hair in a shower cap, shower, brush the hair and go on 2nd and even 3rd days. I had good results just spritzing in SIF on my non-shampoo days twice, but now even SIF makes me a greaseball. I can't even just re-wet and add stylers and go, as I STILL get greasy. And re-wetting without putting any product in on the second day leaves me frizzy. I don't want to re-shampoo every day, so I'm experimenting. (All failures so far.) Any suggestions?
