Now that the weather is changing, how should my products change?

Over the summer devacurl low poo, devacurl one condition, and herbal essences set me up gel worked fewer to give me well defined curls. Now that the humidity has decreased my hair is softer and less defined. What might be causing the change? Is it possible to be overcondiioned when the air is drier?
Usually, when the dewpoint is lower, you need to add moisture to your hair. When the dewpoint gets REALLY low, it can just "suck" the moisture out of your hair.

While I use the same products in the LOW dewpoints, I add a layer. In higher dewpoints, I use a leave in OR a curl enhancer with a jelly product. In the low dewpoints, I use a leave in AND a curl enhancer with a jelly product.

Uh oh...sounds like I need to do some reading on dew points! I assume a low dew point occurs when it's cooler outside and results in less humidity?

I live outside of Philly, our summers can be hot and humid, while our winters can have dewpoints in the negative numbers! Not dissimilar to DC!

I've had this same question in the back of my mind. Most of my products have glycerin in them up high in the list, and reading about how dry hair can have an opposing effect is kind of scaring me. I've always worn my hair naked and it's always super dry in the winter time. Now I wear a leave in and gel. Would this be appropriate for low dew points as well, or should I find products without humectants? If you seal, will that be sufficient enough?

Thanks kathysmack! I have 3b/3c hair this is fine, normal porosity, and high density (medium thick to thick). You can see what I use in my siggy. These are the changes in my routine though. Since May, I have been having wash day every two weeks. Last week Friday, I began using Shea Moisture Restorative Conditioner, and I don't think it has enough slip for me. I'm thinking about buying some coconut oil to blend with the conditioner to help with my hair. I use Shea Moisture Deep Cleansing Shampoo and Shea Moisture Moisture Retention Shampoo to shampoo my hair. I clarify my hair once a month with Carol's Daughter Rosemary Mint Clarifying Shampoo. I plan on using Shea Moisture Deep Treatment Masque as a deep treatment instead of a rinse out like I have been doing. I use Design Essentials Leave-In Conditioner and Blow Drying Lotion for my leave-in conditioner. I bought Kinky Curly Knot Today about a week and a half, and I can't wait to use it. For my styler I use Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie and I just began using Shea Moisture Anti-Frizz Curl Mousse last week. So I was wondering if I should change my routine since fall is now here?
