Default 3B's - product HELP!

Hello ladies (and gents). I used to be a regular poster back in the day but nailed down a great hair routine. Now over the past 5 years all of my favorite products have been discontinued, so I'm basically starting from scratch.

I'm a 3B with long spiral curls. My hair is thin and fine, but there's a lot of it. I've tried the whole CG thing and it's not for me, so I use an SLS/ALS-free shampoo (Mastey Traite) and Kenra Conditioner.

I'm looking for some products that will define my curls, give me volume, fluff everything up a bit but still provide some hold. And if possible, something that will calm down the curls just a bit would be great.

My "holy grail" used to be Back to Basics Smoothing Elixir and Texturizing Lotion mixed together but alas, my supply is gone.

Any recommendations????

Thanks so much.

I'm 3b, with 3c under. I'm not CG and I kind of like my curls to have some volume and fluff. One thing I've been using and like is Garnier Fructis Soft Curl Cream. It's pretty good. I just got some JoiWhip mousse that I haven't tried yet, but I've heard really good things about. I had been using some Herbal Essences Totally Twisted mousse. It was pretty good. Also, Curly By Nature Curl lotion was good for encouraging the curl for me.

Used to be CG, now I'm not. Using Suave Aloe & Waterlily shampoo & condish, JoiWhip, BRHG, Suave Aloe gel, Aussie Tizz No Frizz, and anything else that looks good!

I have 3a/3b hair and do a modified CG routine (the only ‘poo I use occasionally is Jessircul Gentle Lather Shampoo). I wash daily, usually with a ‘cone-free cond., and my current HG styling product is Batia & Aleeza gel – love this stuff. Provides excellent curl formation and lots of shine. Another favorite: I’ll combine Jessicurl RR & CCSS (especially great on days I feel my hair needs moisture, nourishment & TLC).

I'm a 3b. I've had sucess with Deva OneC followed by Angell. Also can do Jessicurl CCSS and RR followed by Angell, although it seems like I have to get the Jessicurl products in the perfect balance or else my hair looks too greasy or doesn't have enough hold.

It's funny that you say that, bc I'm also a 3B and I have the same 2 products on my bathroom shelf. I can get away with the SCC alone on most days, but the Totally Twisted smells good and adds extra hold.

I agree with the Garnier Soft Curl Creme. I like using this and Garnier's Curl n Shine Leave-in (sleek n shine is good too but is a bit heavier). Those two products give me nice curls that are just right. Sometimes I'll switch out the SCC for Loreal Out of Bed cream, which is also a very nice product that gives me "just right curls".

There is a lot of talk lately about a product called L'oreal out of bed weightless texturizer -- it is sort of a creme/gel mix in a jar -- pretty light hold but I notice it does lessen volume and define curls without crunch.

For higher end, I am really liking DevaCurl Angell.

Hmmm...didn't know that the Curl n Shine was lighter. I've got the Sleek n Shine, but I just never liked it that much. I guess it's too heavy for what I want it to do.
