Denman brush help please

I love the curl and volume I get with the Denman but it makes my fine, fluffy hair even fluffier. A wide toothed comb takes out (most) of the fluff but makes my hair flatter and wavier.

At the moment I'm running through my hair with the Denman to make it curl, then following it with the comb to smooth it.

A bristle brush gives me very smooth, thick waves, which look good, but then turns my hair greasy.

A Tangle Teezer gives me very smooth, flat, nearly straight hair, which looks horrible.

Is there any other comb or brush out there that might add curl without fluff?

Any suggestions gratefully received.
The bristle spacing of the regular Denman brush (D3) is too close for my hair also. I use the D31, which has wider spaced bristles when I feel the need to detangle more than I can with my fingers or a wide-toothed comb. I know some people modify the D3 by removing every other row of bristles, but that changes how the bristles are offset in the rows, and makes the spacing even wider than necessary IME. Anyway, those are two options you might consider.
Peace,
Morgan

Thanks Morgan - I hadn't thought of that, because my hair is so fine I had assumed the wider spaced Denman wouldn't work, but with my hair you never know.

I've got an old brush I can try taking a row of bristles out of as an experiment. I'll let you know how it goes!
