Default skinny curling iron?

My hairdresser styled my hair with a curling iron and I liked the result so asked what size I should get. She said very thin - 1/4 inch barrel. I've looked online and it seems like most of them are 3/8 inch at the smallest. I need to go to Sallys. She said to go there and get Hot Tools. Does anyone have one of these?

I have a fatter one that doesn't really do much. I'd like to try the skinny one but if I don't like it, a beauty supply store won't take it back. I checked Bed Bath and Beyond. They had Hot Tools but not thin like that.

I used to have a big fat Hot Tools curler and it was great. I don't use it anymore but Hot Tools is a great brand. They make curling wands now that taper at the bottom. If you got a really skinny one of those it might get small enough for you at the bottom (or top depending on how you look at it I guess).

I have a really skinny one by Remington, it's a 1/4 inch and I bought it from Fred Meyer. So I'd imagine you can find it at stores like that where it's returnable.

Thanks.....we don't have Fred Meyer here in San Diego but maybe I'll check TJ Maxx and Walmart.
