Yep, what sarahthegemini said! I just apply coconut oil all over my dry, unwashed hair until it is covered,put my hair in a high ponytail and then wrap it in a plastic bag (so the heat from my scalp helps the oil penetrate the hair) and go to sleep. Then wash and condition as normal in the morning.
It's great for protecting your hair before you wash, re-hydrating hair, helping with frizz and even dandruff (well the coconut oil is anyway).
Just be sure that if you buy coconut it is virgin and it should be solid. Then you melt it bain-marie style. Some people stick it in the microwave, but I prefer not to do this. I just fill a saucer with really hot water then put the coconut oil in a cup and then stick the cup in the water and it melts
