Too Shea smells bad...what to do?

I just recently bought a liter of Jessicurl Too Shea in Citrus Lavender. I just opened it yesterday and poured some of it into my smaller container I keep in the shower. When I went to use it, I noticed it smelled funny. Not bad per say, just a little off. I was in a hurry so I didn't give it much thought. I noticed the smell again today so I checked the larger bottle. It smells funny too. I can smell the Citrus Lavender scent but it is mixed with something else and it just smells off. What should I do? Should I contact Jessicurl about it or is it ok even if it smells a little wierd?

Is this your first time getting the lavendar citrus scent? I can smell what I think is lemongrass in it.
If it's just bad in another way you can just contact Jess from the contact email on her site. If you don't get an answer pretty soon she might not have gotten it so try again. She has great customer service

Nope. I love Citrus Lavender. I usually buy it in the small jar size but when she had the $5 flat shipping I bought it in the liter. I did go ahead and send her an email just to see what to do. It is definitely not the usual Citrus Lavender scent. Although you can smell it, there is definitely something else mixed with it that smells funny.

Weird I wonder if anyone else had that problem, like it was from a bad batch or something.
I hope you get it all sorted out soon

I've had that smell before in my IF scented stuff, but ONLY when it's a bottle I've had for a really long time. So I bet you just got an off batch. Or haas it been stored in a warm place?

eta: nevermind I see you're in FL.

So true...Florida is quite warm :D

I don't think it got excessively hot though. Once I got it I put it in the cabinet with the rest of my many hair products until I finished up what I still had in the shower. It has only been in the cabinet less than a month. Granted I don't know how long it was at the factory before it made it to me though so maybe it has sat around too long.

I didn't get a chance to check my email before I left for work so I don't know if Jessicurl responded yet although I am sure she did. Last time I emailed them I had an answer back within 24 hours. I will look tonight.

So Jess is sending me a new liter and when the box comes I can stick mine in and send it back so they can see what happened to it. Love their customer service :D And I am switching back to using Rockin Ringlets and CCSS. I played around with Set Me Up Mousse but after using it awhile I am not as pleased with it as I was in the beginning.

That's wonderful! She certainly does have great CS.
