I tried plopping overnight once. Boy oh boy was that a disaster I plop now for 15-20 minutes but I'm still experimenting.
Day 1 of Curly Girl method: 10/5/13
3b Mostly Normal Porosity. Medium Density, Fine to Medium Width, Medium Texture.
SM Y&B TS and Condish. Ecostyler with Argan oil gel.
Daughter: Long frizzy Swavy 2a turned Wavy Curvy 2B - thanks to Devachan, Low Porosity, Medium Texture, High Density
I plop overnight in winter time because I don't want to leave my house with wet hair, especially when it is very cold and temperature is under zero. I don't diffuse my hair and never will so plopping is pretty much the only thing I can do. I do have a lot of shrinkage the next morning but I am not allowed to wear my hair down at work so I don't really mind

By the way, I hardly have any frizz with plopping overnight, but that is probably because I have my hair in a loose pony tail.

I tried plopping for the first time this morning and had good results. I got out of the shower, put my leave in conditioner in and wrapped it in one of my husbands shirts for 20 mins.

When i took it out I put some garnier fructis is to kill any frizz possibility. Before I left the house I scrunched it with argan oil to break up any crunches. So far so good.... ill put upa pic when i get to work.

I tried plopping and it definitely didn't work very well. Any tips?
Hmm Ansleybirch it doesn't work for everyone but I suggest you give it a couple more tries.

My tips are to use a extra large t-shirt, not to wrap it too tight or too loose, to scrunch a little when you take it off, and to play around with the length of time you leave it on. I started with 10 minutes and worked my way up. My magic number is 20.

I have a video on how I do it if you are interested. It's on YouTube my username is Puertoricanbeauty22

I hope it helps you

I love my old t-shirts! I use them for plopping and scrunching. They really keep frizz away
