Hi Curlies , so all begins when I start with the CG in January , all good but I cant see the big changes as all the curlies talk about here , and then I look that my hair was straigh i almost die , Im 3A, low porosity, and in the crown and bottom now are 2C-B , Im really shocked , sad , and yes I cry a lot ....and for the worst now my hair is flat and when i said FLAT i mean it !!

Please someone help me I want my curls back and sometime to do with the volume issue , i tried so many times , clipping , styling upside down , scrunching NOTHING works , I always was in love of my hair but now sometimes just feel to giving up and straigh it

Thank U so much

Hi Curly Smiler,

For volume, have you also tried clipping your hair at the roots? If I don't do that, my hair gets really flat at the top.

Also, you could be using too much product, and it's weighing down your curls. What products were you using before you tried the CG method?

Mod-CG since December 2010.
Hair type: NC: 2A; FIA: 2cFii; Fine, normal porosity, normal elasticity
Cleansing: CJ Cleansing Conditioner, Trader Joe's Tea Tree, or Deva No Poo
Daily conditioner: Deva One C or CJ Beauticurls Strengthening Hair Cond or GPB
Styling products: Deva B'Leave In + Deva Curl Cream + AnGel; or
SS CEJ + BRHG; or AG: Recoil + BRHG; or KCKT + KCCC + BRHG
Treatments: SS protein treatment or CJ Curl Fix or Nexxus Emergencee + CJ Curl Rehab

It doesnt sound like you are conditioning your hair very much. I would pick up a good conditioner and put the hair milk on top of that.

2c-3a - coarse - normal-high porosity - high density - growing out to donate

NP/LP: KMF Whenever Conditioner/ YTCucs
RO/LI: Sevi Pumpkin Seed DC / CJ Argan & Olive Oil, KCKT, YTBbs
DT: Coconut Oil + scalp massage
OIL/STYLER: SM Elixir / KCCC
COLOR: henna, amla & indigo
The biggest difference for me re: volume is diffusing. I just can't get that kind of volume of I air-dry.

Since I have very fine hair, protein helps give me volume also, but may not be that helpful to you if you have coarse hair.

Hope this helps.

fine - normal porosity*?- medium density - normal elasticity. Hard water. SoCal.
*Used to be low-porosity, but I lightened my hair 1-2 shades, so I may be normal-porosity now.

New climate! Current favorites:
Low-poo: CJ Gentle Cleansing Shampoo, Giovanni SaS
RO: V05 Kiwi Lime
Styler: UFD CM (old formula), FSG + CNPF
PT: CJ Repair Me, IAgirl's gelatine

Experimenting with: JC Confident Coils, JC Rockin Ringlets, CJ CIAB, gelatin gel

iherb discount code: CFN646
Girl you need to clarify and deep condition! The sulfates can't clean up the silicones and buildup so everyone in a while you've gotta suds up!!
There are a couple of things I wonder about that I'm not seeing. Is your hair fine, medium, or coarse? Also, what hair milk are you using? It isn't possible to recheck the product ingredients for you without knowing that.

Also, you should be cleansing, conditioning, and styling, and I'm not seeing any stylers in your routine, which could be a factor.

Sorry for all the questions LOL ....Thanks
I still think it matters what hair milk you're using. The most common reason for the problems you're reporting is buildup (which could also explain why CG was a trainwreck for you). I really thought my hair got weighed down by conditioner, and that gel was absolutely no help when my hair had buildup. It's really easy to miss things in ingredients lists, and it can help a lot to have another set of eyes read them.

The difference between conditioning and not conditioning is largely that your hair can't hold moisture well if you're not conditioning, and if it can't hold moisture, which is necessary for curls to form, it won't hold curl.

I see no conditioner in that list. You need to use a leave in conditioner, especially if you are using some form of low poo. Have you done protein treatments? These perk up my curls like crazy. As for the hair milk on top, I mean use the hair milk after your leave in conditioner.. or skip it all together. Hair milks don't necessarily "condition" your hair.
