Default hair color change when I wash vs not wash

I've always considered my hair dark brown/black. But now I've noticed, since I play more with my hair is that when it's freshly washed, it looks like a light brown, especially in certain lights. I don't know if because each strand gets separated or if my hair is gradually lightening at my ripe old age of 33. Just wondering if this happens to any of you. I never noticed it when I was younger, but then I brushed it all the time, so all the hairs were separated, but together!

Sun lightens the hair, so if you got a lot of sun this summer, that could've played a part. My hair turned more rich when I started CG, I think I had a lot of scum on my hair, it was so dull. Grosses me out thinking of it lol
