Sorry for the strange topic title but I've never had long curly hair.

I'm growing it out at the moment but I look at others long beautiful curls and can't imagine mine looking like that 😒

Feeling disheartened
Fine 3B/C curls.
Currently growing out damage caused by straightening and coloring.
Don't be. Its been 7 years since I had long hair. Went through a change at 18. Wanted super short hair. Since having major damage at 20 years old. It took 3 years for regular trims and TLC. From neck/top of shoulders to mid back length(when stretched). It takes time and patience. You'll have long hair before you know it .

Sent from my SGH-T999L using CurlTalk App
3B fine & medium, medium density,low/medium porosity, semi protein sensitive
NP: ACV
COWASH: Suave Naturals green apple and coconut
RO/LI: Tresseme Naturals, Oyin hair dew
PT/DT: Ion repair solutions, my own concoction
OIL: Coconut, grapeseed & jojoba
STYLER: LA Looks nutra curl & AVJ spritz

My disabilities don't change who I am.
I didn't find the transition to be that dramatic. You - or at least I - get used to it being short, but then by the time you've fully adjusted to it being really short, it's brushing your shoulders. Then you get used to that and it's starting to fall down your back ... and so on.

Try not to feel disheartened. There's beauty to be found at all lengths. Right now you want what you want: long hair. You'll get there. Just try and take care of your hair as best you can. Also, you may find that focusing less on length for now will appear to make it grow faster
3b/c?

Don't feel disheartened looking at pics of long-haired curlies - feel excited and inspired! I'm growing my hair out too and looking at those pics makes me really excited for what my hair will look like at that length.

Think positive, girl! You'll have beautifully long, tumbling tresses in no time
3A with some 3B thrown in. Medium porosity. Medium Thickness. High density.

I am all the time complaining that I want my hair to be long but my hair tends to grow quite quick and then I always end up cutting it anyway because my hair gets heavy, I don't like the curl pattern anymore and I feel like it is more work (I am lazy lol) so for me, I never thought I would say this, but I like my hair now more when it's short(er) than long

Trying once more, I'd really love to donate it. I'm also wondering how my hair will look when it's long. I was straightening when it was long before, so I only had a bit of wave, no curls, and it was soooooooo dry. So curious to see what it will look like now. And I am super impatient! I already want to cut my hair, and it's only been a little over a month since my last (it grows super fast!). I have 2 more months to wait until my next appt. ugh!

My hair grows very slowly so growing it out can be discouraging at times. But it always grows out eventually! In the mean time I just use cute barrettes, clips, scrunchies, headbands.

For me growing out my hair took a lot of patience and deep conditioning haha. Stay away from heat and if you can also give up dye. I stopped using heat and last dyed my hair over a year ago and noticed a big improvement in my hair since I had less split/dry ends it means less trims. Sometimes I hated it tho bc I has to get used to my curls getting looser.

I have found it much easier to grow my hair since going CG, and getting Deva cuts than I ever did before. Prior to this, I was almost always trying to grow my hair. The progress is slow, in comparison to how fast straight hair takes to show growth, but my hair spends a lot more time going around in circles than it does going down. The thing that matters is that it's getting longer, and nobody has sabotaged my hair growth.

It's now past the middle of my back again and the healthiest it's ever been, with all of the conditioning and leave-ins that I had never used previously. Hair grows before ya know it... I think it's a little like finding love: When you're not looking for it, it happens.

BUT I've just scheduled an appointment to cut it again, back to my shoulders. While it's nice to have long and healthy hair, something that I previously thought was impossible, it's almost it's own entity! Babying it everyday, spending a lot more time that I don't have, it's heavy, and I keep getting it caught under my arm or in my seat belt , lol. That's just my own choice... but please don't get disheartened. Good luck to you!

It doesn't really feel like a pain to me. Once it started looking good no matter what length it is, getting it grown out to "long" hasn't been a race for me. It's been a series of stages in which I like my hair.
