Curly Girl Problems...

We all get them and out friends with straight hair would never understand them....

I just had one 2 minutes ago. I was sitting in my office at work and reached up to touch my hair and my bracelet got caught. Lol took a good 3 minutes to carefully untangle it.

Thought it would be fun to have a topic to share our entertaining curly girl problems. :)

Who's next?

Trying to explain why my hair "looks wet" or how it looks different after I SOTC. The other day my friend said, "your hair was wet like two minutes ago. What happened?"

Yelling at my boyfriend when he goes to touch my hair. Then asking for a scalp massage later.

I asked for a massage from my boyfriend the other night. He's afraid to touch my hair now that I yell at him for it. His reply to my request was, "I'll do it on a day that you won't mind it being messed up." I told him, "Right before bed is fine, it will get messed up anyway. I just don't like it when you play with it in public or when we're going out." He gets so confused, poor guy

I get the same thing, sixelamy... my husband is afraid to touch my hair now because I have snapped at him a few times!

I can't wear sunglasses on top of my head because they will tangle in my hair and rip my hair out. I've lost lots of hair that way!!! Ooops

This might sound weird but I sort of taught my boyfriend how to play with my hair without getting himself all tangled in it and pulling out the curls. My issue now is my nephew, who is a year old and thinks my hair is the most fun toy ever. He always wants to brush it. Lol He'll have to Learn that brushes aren't for curls.

Luckily almost all my friends have curls lol

but yeah I always get comments like, why do you wet your hair or like
"OMG, you don't wash your hair everyday?"

MaureenFMetheny 11-12-2013 01:56 PM

Yeah, trying to explain to my husband why I can't wash my hair every day, why I need 3 or 4 different bottles in the shower, why I need a diffuser, and so on and so on....But, having said that, he supports my curls.
Question: Have any of you tried the "Curl Secret" by Infiniti? The one that makes spiral curls? I don't want to spend $100 or so if it doesn't work.....

Here's one: having no idea how your hair will turn out once it's dry. I can do the exact same thing on two different days, and once my hair finishes air drying it's reacted completely different from one time to another. I know, I know, there are a myriad of reasons for this, but I think this is a problem curlies all deal with at some point.

When your curls turn out awesome, they last you a few days, and then it's time to wash again and you're scared they won't come back the same way.

Having to explain why you don't brush your hair! Also, if the bathtub gets clogged, everyone knows that it's probably because you forgot to remove your hair from the drain...

how that you find red curly hair EVERWHERE in the strangest places..... lucky my boyfriend doesnt mind that much. when my boyfriend n i were living with his step dad, he was vacuming and suddenly it wouldnt spin and we smelt somthing buring. yeah, that was my hair, was all wrapped around and almost broke. He wasnt happy. Though i found it funny that my hair could do that. :toothy5:

I just chopped off my long hair, so this doesn't apply to me anymore, but here's one: Running your fingers through your hair, getting them caught halfway, and not being able to get them out.
Lol, this used to happen to me so much!

SereneCurls 11-30-2013 10:46 AM

My hair has wrecked the vacuum several times. Also the wheels on our computer chair. My boyfriend says we could probably use it as fishing line.

I'm Spring cleaning (yeah it's early winter here, but I'm suffering with dust allergy) and between my pink-red ringlets and the cat's fur it is a PITA.

Shed hair/ fur is all moving from dirty room to clean room on my feet, clothing, vacuum wheels and supposedly 'clean' laundry festooning the bathroom and airer.

And at least two drains need unblocking! On the plus side I don't have to clean the lint out my hairbrush since I no longer use one.

I went shopping yesterday with my boyfriend's aunt, and I swear she had me try on half the store! Needless to say, my curls were completely ruined and frizzy by the time I was done.
