First time plopping success!

So I finally caved in to pressure (hehe) the other day and tried plopping. Have to say - LOVED the results.

I plopped for about 15 minutes with a long-sleeved t-shirt/jumper type thing. After taking it out of the plop I could see some frizz going on, so I was unimpressed to say the least. BUT once it had dried the frizz was gone and I was left with great curls.

I wouldn't say there was a huge difference in my curls on the first day, but they are definitely more bouncy. Plus it reduced drying time and that's something I was really after (I'm not a huge fan of diffusing).

Another great thing is I woke up today and found I have really awesome third day curls! There's hardly any frizz, they're touchably soft, really springy little ringlets. It's great because normally by third day I have major frizz.

So I definitely think I'm a plopping convert! I'm going to wash my hair tonight and see if I get the same great results (hopefully it wasn't a plopping fluke lol).

Do you add products before plopping?

I've tried adding products & then plopping. I've also plopped and then added products afterwards. I prefer afterwards.

I've also tried plopping 2nd day hair. But with 2nd day hair I put in products and then plopped and was pleased with the results.

Conditioners: Sauve Naturals Tropical Coconut
Gel: LA Looks Sports Gel
Curl Refresher - water. Still looking for something
PT: IAGirl's Protein Treatment
Yeah, I did a baptism rinse so I still had some conditioner in and then I just added my gel, scrunched and pumped as usual and then plopped!

I never thought about adding products afterwards. Might be something to try - but I am worried about frizz. I might end up rockin' a fro if I don't add my gel in right away.

Interesting that you plop for second day hair too! I don't tend to re-wet on second day though, normally I just take my hair out of the pineapple, apply some leave-in and I'm good to go

No, I don't wet my 2nd day hair. I just spray with leave in conditioner, & curl refresher. Don't know why I had the idea to plop but it worked out pretty well and intensified my curl.

A baptism rinse is usually something people use to help them leave a lot of their conditioner in the hair. Instead of rinsing it out, you stick your head briefly under the shower to completely soak and help distribute the product. It's something the cg handbook recommends for wavies if I remember correctly.
