GF Curl & Shine Leave In

Okay cool, I use a big glob myself! Thanks ladies.
3a/3b thick coarse WL dark brown hair. CG/Mod CG since: 5/4/05. Current products: Right now my hair is in such a tizzy over this winter weather we are hving that nothing really seems to be working. I need a haircut.
maybe i didn't use enough? my hair is wavy at best...some occasional curls, but not nearly as curly as i'm used to. i only used about a dime sized blob because my hair is shorter and i was worried about it being too heavy....i plopped this morning too, and i haven't done that since it got cold out...maybe that has something to do with this mess on my head?
my hair feels soft, but no clumps.

i'll try it again tomorrow. i'll rake through one blob and scrunch in the second blob. then i'll scrunch it a little with a tshirt and let it air dry. (that's what i have been doing all winter and it works well for me).

i'm bummed. i was hoping my hair was going to be the most amazing it's ever looked! but i think that every time i try a new product....

Don't get discouraged meg! I'd definitely try using a little more; I don't seem to ever have negative effects from using too much. And try it with your normal routine (no plopping) to see if that makes a difference.

Also, you said you got no clumps. Do you think that might be from raking? I must be a weirdo because wetbrushing works great for me, but raking or combing majorly breaks up my clumps.

i didn't rake this morning, i just scrunched in. so maybe i'll scrunch in and try more of it to see if that will work.
then i'll try raking after that.
wetbrushing, huh? i don't think i own a brush anymore....

i might have one of those sweet folding ones that the hospital gave me...otherwise i have wide tooth combs...

I use when in the morning for 2nd day hair, I just smooth it on, and let it air dry, making sure not to touch, when it dries it looks so pretty, nice clumping and ringlets
used a lot more today. raked in a nickle sized blob in SOAKING wet hair, scrunched in a dime. scrunched dry with tshirt a little, then i mixed another dime of it in with a little more then a dime of my pm super sculpt gel and smoothed/scrunched that into the top layer.
let it air dry without touching, then scrunched when it as dry.

my hair feels really nice, smells fabulous, and the curls? pretty darn awesome!

Gosh, I wish I could use coin sized amounts of hair product on this thick mop of hair. You know how much money I would save?

Whats the difference between c&s condish and the leave in.

This stuff is so hard to get hold of in the UK and I was only able to find the condish.

Can the condish be used as a leave in or will it be too heavy.

My hair is fine and doesn't like anything heavy but I need a few more curls.

Any advice gratefully appreciated.
i use the CO and the leavein both as leaveins. I tried the sleek n shine again last night and used a TON of it, about 2 large palms full. i plopped and it air dried most of the way before bed. i was going to pineapple it but then i put it in a micro turban instead and plopped overnight--i had a fabulous hair day today--really bouncy curls in the morning. not only that but i hiked 9+ miles in the winter wind with a headband on and the hair did not get frizzy or lose the curl. the garnier stuff is great and it all seems to work for me. the more i put on the better my hair is, but the key is that overnight plopping. i might even try it if my hair is dry. i put the new photos up in my fotki. i wish there was a faster way to get my hair looking this good--the diffuser does not quite do it. so my best hair is before bed and while hiking.

I love the new hair pics! your hair is real clumpy and smoothly curled in those!
I saw the soft curl pics too, you didn't get any buildup from that? or did you only use it once or so in a row? I'm always wondering about that. I do fine on the conditioners but the SCC has a diff cone in it.
2c/3a?
Low porosity, medium texture.

If it smells good put it in your hair, if it tastes good spit it out!
Banjo- your hair is sooo pretty, I like the headband too, looks real good.
After reading all 3 pages, I am going to try this stuff. I have been avoiding Walgreen's because everytime I'm there I buy hair products, but now I need to pick up a prescription anyway and some GF C&S.

I am also going to try the plopping overnight thing just for kicks. I have only had limited sucess with plopping period, but maybe overnight and with the leave-in will give me some good results. I am SO tired of leaving the house with wet hair everyday!

I will let you all know how the C&S and overnight plopping work for me!
3B with some 3a. Fell off but am now back on the CG bandwagon and looking for my HG products.

thank you all for the nice compliments!! the amazing thing to me is the after hike pic because i hiked from 1030am till 4pm and my hair did not get trashed at all. this stuff is great. i use either the CO as leavein or the leavein itself--not both, but it is amazing how much product my hair will drink up. i'll try to take a photo tonight after i swim and do my hair of how much stuff i put on--it is really a lOT... i look forward to seeing and hearing about all your experimental results!

thanks lavender girl

I tried the C&S condish as a co wash, it left my hair poofy with hardly any curl.

I'll rinse my hair with water now and leave a big blob of it in and see how it goes.

I have used the c & s conditioner wanting a cheap alternative to devacurl one c, and it does not give me as much curl as one c. I have to add curl enhancers to get my hair to look good. WOndering if it is worth trying the leave in, probably not.My hair just works best with one c. Oh well.
Hair type, thin, 3b, past my shoulders always looking for length. Use jessicurl hair cleansing cream, devacurl one c, angel, set it free, Always see a deva trained stylist for cut and Aveda Institute for color.
Tried C&S condish (not the leave in) and left some in my hair and plopped. Yes I have curls!

My only worry is will I be able to co wash this out or will I need to poo.
